| Objective:The effects of Jiawei Jiangqi Huatan Decoction Combined with Acupoint Application on TCM symptom scores,White Blood Cell(WBC),Absolute Neutrophil Count(NE#),C-reactive protein(CRP),Procalcitonin(PCT),sputum etiology eradication and Pulmonary CT image absorption of elderly patients with syndrome of phlegm-dampness accumulated in the lung for Community Acquired Pneumonia(CAP),so as to evaluate the clinical effect of Jiawei Jiangqi Huatan Decoction Combined with Acupoint Application on elderly patients with CAP syndrome of phlegm-dampness accumulated in the lung.Method:105 CAP patients meeting the admission criteria and treated in the Department of respiratory and critical care medicine of Fuzhou Secondary Hospital from February 2021 to February 2022 were selected in this study,who were randomly divided into Treatment Group A with 35 cases,Treatment Group B with 35 cases and Control Group C with 35 cases.For Treatment Group A,the patients were treated with Jiawei Jiangqi Huatan Decoction Combined with Acupoint Application and conventional anti-infection treatment of Western medicine;For Treatment Group B,the patients were treated with Jiawei Jiangqi Huatan Decoction Combined with conventional anti-infection treatment of Western medicine;While for Control Group C,the patients were treated with conventional anti-infection treatment of Western medicine.The treatment courses are all 12 days,and the White Blood Cell(WBC),Absolute Neutrophil Count(NE#),C-reactive protein(CRP),Procalcitonin(PCT)and TCM syndrome scores were recorded before treatment(before medication on the day of admission),on the 7th day and on the 12 th day of treatment.The absorption conditions of pulmonary CT images and sputum etiology detection were recorded and compared for statistical analysis before treatment and on the 12 th day of treatment.Results:1.It is of no statistical significance for the three groups in the data of age,gender,smoking history and basic diseases(P> 0.05),which is comparable at the same baseline level.2.Inflammatory index level:(1)The difference of the WBC and NE# between the three groups before treatment is of no statistical significance(P>0.05),which is comparable;(2)WBC on the 7th and 12 th day of treatment: the differences between group A and group C,group A and group B,group B and group C are all of statistical significance(P<0.05).(3)NE#on the 7th and 12 th day of treatment: the differences between group A and group C,group A and group B are both of statistical significance(P<0.05),but the difference between group B and group C is of no statistical significance(P>0.05).(4)WBC and NE# indexes gradually decrease over time,and the difference is of statistical significance(P<0.05).There is also significant difference between groups in the decreasing degree(P<0.05).In conclusion,in terms of WBC and NE# decreasing degree,group A is superior than group B,and group B is superior than group C.(5)Comparison within CRP group: the differences between the three groups on the 7th day of treatment and before treatment,and the 12 th day of treatment and before treatment are both of statistical significance(P<0.05).Comparison between groups:there is no statistical difference between the three groups on CRP before treatment(P>0.05),which is comparable;On the 7th day of treatment,the differences between group A and group C,group A and group B are are both of statistical significance(P<0.05),and there is no statistical difference between group B and group C(P>0.05).On the 12 th day of treatment,the differences between group A and group C,group B and group C,and group A and group B are all of statistical significance(P<0.05).To sum up,in terms of CRP decreasing degree:group A is superior than group B,and group B is superior than group C.(6)Comparison within PCT group: the differences of the three groups between the data before treatment and on the7 th day of treatment,before treatment and on the 12 th day of treatment are both of statistical significance(P<0.05).Comparison between groups: the difference between the three groups before treatment is of no statistical significance(P>0.05),which is comparable;The differences between the three groups on the 7th and 12 th day of treatment are of no statistical significance(P>0.05),indicating that the three groups have the equivalent effects in reducing PCT.3.Absorption conditions of lung CT image: the total absorption rate of lung inflammation in Treatment Group A is 87.5%,that in Treatment Group B is 87.5%,and that in Control Group C is 84.85%.There is no statistical difference in the absorption of lung inflammation among the three groups(P>0.05).The treatment schemes of the three groups have equivalent treatment effect in promoting the absorption of lung inflammation.4.TCM syndrome score: there is no statistical difference of TCM syndrome score between the three groups before treatment(P>0.05),which is comparable;On the 7th and 12 th day of treatment:the differences between group A and group C,group B and group C,and group A and group B are all of statistical significance(P<0.05).The TCM syndrome score gradually decreases over time,and the difference is of statistical significance(P<0.05),and there is also significant difference in the decreasing degree among the groups(P<0.05).To sum up,in terms of reducing TCM syndrome score,group A is superior than group B,and group B is superior than group C.5.For TCM syndrome treatment effects: In terms of number of cured cases: Treatment Group A > Treatment Group B > Control Group C;In terms of number of cases with no effect: Treatment Group A < Treatment Group B < Control Group C.The total effective rates of the three groups are 96.875%,84.375% and 78.79% respectively.The difference in the curative effect of TCM syndromes among the three groups is of statistical significance(P<0.05).In terms of the treatment effect: Treatment Group A is superior than Treatment Group B,and Treatment Group B is superior than than Control Group C.6.Sputum etiology: comparison within the group: the number of sputum etiology cases detected in the three groups after treatment decreases compared with that before treatment,and the difference is of statistical significance(P<0.05).Comparison between groups: the number of sputum etiology cases detected in the three groups before treatment are of no statistical difference(P>0.05),which is comparable;The number of sputum etiology cases detected on the 12 th day of treatment is of no statistical difference(P>0.05),indicating that the three groups have the equivalent effects in eliminating sputum etiology.Conclusions:1.Jiawei Jiangqi Huatan Decoction Combined with Acupoint Application and conventional anti-infection treatment of Western medicine can significantly improve the TCM syndrome scores of elderly patients with CAP syndrome of phlegm-dampness accumulated in the lung,promote the quality of life and clinical treatment effect for patients,and effectively reduce relevant inflammatory indexes of White Blood Cell(WBC),Absolute Neutrophil Count(NE#)and C-reactive protein(CRP).2.Comparing Jiawei Jiangqi Huatan Decoction Combined with Acupoint Application and conventional anti-infection treatment of Western medicine with Jiawei Jiangqi Huatan Decoction Combined with conventional anti-infective treatment of Western medicine and single conventional anti-infective treatment of Western medicine,there is no statistical difference in reducing Procalcitonin(PCT),promoting the absorption of pulmonary inflammation and eradicating sputum etiology with equivalent treatment effect.3.There are no adverse reactions in the treatment of the elderly patients with CAP syndrome of phlegm-dampness accumulated in the lung by using Jiawei Jiangqi Huatan Decoction Combined with Acupoint Application and the treatment effect is safe. |
