Rural reform and opening up 40 years, especially in recent years, agriculture to achieve rapid development at the same time, the ecological environment lit up the "red light",the quality of agricultural products touched the "bottom line",the supply of quality and safe agricultural products can not meet the people’s growing needs of a better life.In this context, the concept of green agricultural development came into being. The realization of green agricultural development is a complex system project, not only facing the severe situation of water and soil resources and the environment, there are also some contradictions that need to be cracked. The first and foremost is the long and painful transition of production methods and the high cost of the transition. Therefore,it is not difficult to find that sustainable growth of agricultural income is the key to sustainable green agricultural development, and if the development of green agriculture requires continuous financial transfers to sustain it,it is naturally difficult to adhere to this beautiful model. Therefore, the economic value of green agricultural development, which is explored here in this paper with a view to strengthening confidence in the green transformation of agriculture, reflects its unique significance. However, how and what kind of economic value will be brought by agricultural green development is still a question worth exploring.Summarizing the existing studies, the author finds that an increased level of green development in agriculture will improve the efficiency of agricultural production, thus enhancing its value chain status and thus promoting the rural economy. In this direction,it can be questioned, how to measure the level of green development in agriculture? How is the status of agricultural value chain measured? Can green agricultural development contribute to the climbing of the agricultural value chain status? If so,how does it contribute? What is the impact and mechanism of its action?Based on the above questions, this paper theoretically analyzes the general path of agricultural value chain climbing from three perspectives of agricultural production, marketing and development, based on existing domestic and foreign research, combined with agricultural green development theory and value chain climbing theory. On this basis, the author takes agricultural green total factor productivity as the entry point and measures the level of agricultural green development in China by using the ML index method based on the SBM directional distance function. After that, the author used the value chain decomposition model to measure the status of agricultural value chain using the national inter-regional input-output data. The research results show that.On the whole, the improvement of agricultural green development level has a positive influence on the climbing of agricultural value chain, but this influence relationship is not linear, and its significant positive influence can be observed only when the agricultural green development level is raised to within a specific threshold interval. And when the level of agricultural green development continues to increase and crosses this interval,no significant correlation can be observed anymore. This leads to the conclusion that the level of agricultural green development has a stage-specific effect on its value chain climbing effect. On the basis of the existing conclusions, the author makes the following suggestions: first, the government should strengthen the policy support and publicity of agricultural green development;second, the development and promotion of agricultural technologies should be encouraged, among which special attention should be paid to the promotion of emerging agricultural technologies;third, the adjustment of agricultural industry structure should be continued to promote the interconnection of upstream and downstream of the whole agricultural industry chain.
