Impact Of Agriculture-tourism Integration On Agricultural Eco-efficiency In China

Since the reform and opening up,the pace of agricultural modernization has accelerated,China’s grain output has doubled,but the deepening dependence on petrochemical resources has led to the worsening of the rural ecological environment.Although the excessive investment of petrochemical resources can effectively promote agricultural production,problems such as resource waste,environmental pollution and hidden danger of food safety caused by petroleum agriculture are becoming more and more prominent.But under the urban-rural dual structure,the continuous loss of young labor force and the relative backwardness of rural economy have largely become the bottleneck restricting the rapid transformation of petroleum agriculture.In this context,the integration of agriculture and tourism,as a strong starting point for the implementation of China’s rural revitalization strategy,plays an important role in the upgrading of rural industrial structure,economic development,ecological conservation and employment of surplus labor,and well meets the needs of agricultural ecological civilization construction,becoming a powerful booster of petroleum agricultural transformation.Guided by the theoretical analysis of agro-tourism integration on agricultural ecological efficiency,this article focuses on the core issue of agricultural ecology and elaborates the influence mechanism of agro-tourism integration on agricultural ecological efficiency based on the research status at home and abroad.Based on China in 2004-2020 panel data of 31 provinces,the super efficiency SBM model calculates agricultural eco-efficiency and analyses its spatial-temporal evolution,on the basis of the convergence criterion further predicted the future trend of the development of agricultural eco-efficiency,build spatial Durbin model and the mediation effect model,The nonlinear impact of agro-tourism integration on rural labor transfer and agricultural eco-efficiency was discussed,and its potential transmission mechanism was further explored.Finally,Light GBM was used to rank and compare the importance of various influencing factors of agricultural eco-efficiency.Finally,the following conclusions were drawn:(1)On the whole,China’s agricultural eco-efficiency showed an exponential growth trend and entered an accelerated growth track in 2017.However,the development level of agricultural eco-efficiency was lower than expected in most years and was in a state of "negative gap".The regional differences were significant but showed a downward trend.The main cause of regional differences was intra-regional differences rather than inter-regional differences.(2)By region,before 2011,the development level of agricultural eco-efficiency decreased successively in the west,east and central regions,and after 2011,the east surpassed the west and ranked first.The relatively backward provinces in the three regions showed significant "catch-up effect",and all provinces were moving rapidly towards their own steady development.(3)The impact of agriculture-tourism integration on agricultural eco-efficiency presents a positive U-shaped curve,indicating that with the improvement of agriculture-tourism integration level,it first inhibits and then promotes agricultural eco-efficiency,and the level of agriculture-tourism integration in most provinces has broken the inflection point of 0.391 in 2020.Rural labor transfer is an important intermediary of agriculturetourism integration affecting agricultural eco-efficiency.In other words,the integration of agriculture and tourism not only has a direct impact on agricultural eco-efficiency through various positive externalities,but also has an indirect impact on agricultural eco-efficiency through rural labor transfer.(4)Among the influencing factors of agricultural eco-efficiency,the integration level of agriculture and tourism,agricultural machinery input intensity and land use intensity ranked the top three.Accordingly,each region should be based on its resources characteristic,establish incentive mechanism and long-term mechanism to enhance the integration level of local agriculture-tourism integration,enhance the feasibility of rural labor transfer and the durability of the transfer process,break regional administrative barriers,promote inter-regional resource sharing and optimization of allocation,achieve the leapfrog of agglomeration from quantity to quality,so as to promote the improvement of agricultural eco-efficiency and inject new impetus into the sustainable development of agriculture.
