Research On China-EU Equipment Manufacturing Trade Network

In recent years,international trade disputes have occurred frequently,and China’s foreign trade faces more uncertainties.As the main partner of China’s foreign trade,the EU plays an important role in China’s trade economy.As the basis of industry,the equipment manufacturing industry is also the main trade industry between China and the EU.Due to its obvious importance and strong barriers in high-end areas,the equipment manufacturing industry between China and the EU will also face a severe competition pattern in the future.In order to promote the healthy development of China-EU equipment manufacturing trade and clarify the direction of China’s equipment manufacturing trade policy with EU,we need to deeply understand the trade pattern of China-EU equipment manufacturing industry,especially China’s role and position in China-EU equipment manufacturing trade,as well as the influencing factors of China-EU equipment manufacturing trade.Therefore,this paper uses the detailed trade data of China and EU countries from 2007 to2021 in the UN Comtrade database to explore the current situation of China-EU equipment manufacturing trade from the overall scale,trade structure,trade competitiveness and trade complementarity.Then,using the social network analysis method,from the perspective of trade density,network reciprocity,national centrality,core periphery countries and community differentiation,this paper explores the evolution of China-EU equipment manufacturing trade network pattern in 2007,2014 and 2021.At the same time,it introduces the concept of intra industry trade division and trade dependence,and studies China-EU equipment manufacturing trade dependence network under different division of labor.Finally,this paper uses QAP regression to analyze the influencing factors of China-EU equipment manufacturing trade relationship network.Based on the above research and analysis,this paper finds that:(1)the scale of Chin-EU trade is rising,China’s position in the trade relationship network of China-EU equipment manufacturing industry is also rising,and EU countries are highly dependent on China’s trade;(2)The trade complementarity between China and the EU is high and the competitiveness is low.However,in the process of upgrading China’s equipment manufacturing industry,the vertical division of labor with EU countries in some equipment manufacturing industries will change,which will lead to enhanced trade competitiveness;(3)Trade facilitation has significantly promoted the establishment of China-EU equipment manufacturing trade relations.Based on this,this paper believes that China should expand the degree of opening to the outside world and continue to strengthen the economic ties between China and EU;Adjust resource distribution and optimize the industrial structure of equipment manufacturing industry;Strengthen technological innovation and accelerate the upgrading of equipment manufacturing industry;Promote trade facilitation and build a digital logistics system.
