| As one of the seven strategic emerging industries,high-end equipment manufacturing plays a crucial role in the overall competitiveness of equipment manufacturing industry.China has gradually become an important equipment manufacturing country, but the domestic market can no longer meet the long-term and sustained development needs of the high-end equipment manufacturing industry. In addition, the complexity and uncertainty of the current international trade environment also pose greater risks to China’s international trade in high-end equipment manufacturing industry. Therefore, studying the international trade pattern and driving effect of high-end equipment manufacturing industry is helpful for China to seize development opportunities under the current international trade background of high-end equipment manufacturing industry, and provide reference for stabilizing and optimizing China’s foreign trade structure and deepening trade cooperation strategy.Starting from the development trend of international trade network research, this article selects14 high-end equipment manufacturing products under the SITC Rev.3 version as research objects based on research purposes and data availability, and constructs an international trade network consisting of more than 240 countries from 2000 to 2021 for analysis.Firstly, the connectivity and centrality indicators of the network are measured at the overall level, the structural characteristics of the overall network are identified, and the evolution trend of the international trade pattern of highend equipment manufacturing industry is analyzed. Then, based on the two-way perspective of import and export, the aggregation index is constructed, and the status of high-end equipment manufacturing industry in various countries is comprehensively judged, and the evolution of the trade status of countries in various peripheral regions is revealed. Finally, based on the two dimensions of time and space, the time-geographic weighted model is used to analyze the driving effect of international trade in China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry, and the influence degree of each driving factor under different temporal and spatial dimensions is explored. The research shows that the overall trade efficiency and trade possibility have increased, but it still lacks good connectivity and diffusion, and the control ability of major exporting countries over high-end equipment manufacturing trade is generally higher than that of importing countries.Today’s world high-end equipment manufacturing trade has formed a "three-legged stand" with North America,Western Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region as the core. The North American export geopolitical region driven by the absolute core status of the United States plays an intermediary regulatory role worldwide. The European geopolitical region always maintains traditional manufacturing advantages, while the competition within the Asia-Pacific region is fierce.China’s international trade in high-end equipment manufacturing industry has obvious regional agglomeration characteristics, and its trade independence and anti-control capabilities in the international trade network of high-end equipment manufacturing industry are constantly increasing, but its resource control ability still needs to be strengthened. The driving effect of China’s international trade in high-end equipment manufacturing industry is mainly manifested as: economic scale > geographical distance > technological research and development > trade structure > policy system > population scale.Economic scale and geographical distance directly affect the scale and direction of international trade to a large extent, but technological research and development and policy system have important development potential for China’s future international trade in highend equipment manufacturing industry. Therefore,China can improve its international market competitiveness in the high-end equipment manufacturing industry by strengthening infrastructure construction to reduce trade costs, maintaining research and development investment to enhance core competitiveness, and formulating targeted trade strategic planning to optimize trade policy mechanisms. |
