A Study On The Influence Of Technology Spillover From Import Trade On China's Equipment Manufacturing Industry Upgrading

The manufacturing industry is the core of the national economy,among which the equipment manufacturing industry is the strategic industry related to the international economic security.The development of import trade is conducive to improving the structure and quality of the factors of production in the importing countries,thus promoting the potential growth of the economy,and gradually attracting attention to the role of import trade in promoting economic growth and the analysis of the effects brought by import trade.Based on the theory of technology difference,the theory of product life cycle and the economic theory of endogenous growth,this paper mainly studies the effect of technology spillover on upgrading of China's equipment manufacturing industry through import trade channel,and puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions according to the results of empirical analysis.First of all,this paper aims at the influence of technology spillover of import trade,equipment manufacturing upgrading and import trade technology spillover on equipment manufacturing upgrading,and combs and summarizes the related research of experts and scholars at home and abroad.Secondly,from the theoretical level of import trade technology spillovers on the equipment manufacturing industry upgrade of the impact of theoretical analysis,such as theoretical basis,influencing factors,action mechanism.Thirdly,this paper analyzes the import trade and upgrade status of the equipment manufacturing industry in China,analyzes the import trade status of the whole import trade status of the equipment manufacturing industry and the import trade status of the industrial power G7 countries which can obtain technology spillovers more easily through the import trade,and analyzes the upgrade status of the equipment manufacturing industry through the external upgrade performance of the technology level and the internal upgrade level measured by the total factor productivity.Then there is the empirical analysis,based on the reference C-H model,using the variables of foreign R&D input,domestic R&D input,human capital,trade openness and industrial scale obtained by import trade as the explanatory variables,using the panel data of China's equipment manufacturing industry in 2000-2018 to establish a measurement model,and the empirical analysis on the impact of foreign R&D capital stock acquired by import trade on the equipment manufacturing productivity(tfpch,techch,effch).The empirical results show that the technology spillover under the import trade channel has a positive effect on the upgrading of the equipment manufacturing industry,and the foreign R&D intensity has a positive effect on the change of total factor productivity and technological efficiency,but the impact on the technological progress is not obvious.At the same time,it is found that the domestic R&D intensity has not passed the significant test;the industrial scale has passed the significant test;the opening to the outside world has significantly promoted the growth of total factor productivity and technological efficiency,but it is not significant to the technological progress;the human capital has a positive impact on the technological progress,but the impact on the total factor productivity and technological efficiency is not obvious.Finally,in view of the current situation of the equipment manufacturing industry in our country and its utilization of the technology spillover effect brought by import trade to promote its upgrading,the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward: moderately expanding the opening up,optimizing the import structure;improving the level of human capital and improving the efficiency of technology spillover absorption;Enhancing R&D investment,enhancing innovation capacity through technology spillovers;optimizing the technology spillover channels,and comprehensively enhancing the high technology absorption capacity.
