In the new engineering era,the cultivation of engineering ethics literacy is the key to realize the comprehensive development of new engineering talents.The Master of Engineering should be well prepared in the cognition,skills and practice of engineering ethics.This study aims to improve the level of engineering ethics literacy of future engineers by constructing the evaluation index system of engineering ethics literacy of the Master of Engineering in the new engineering background,combining with the questionnaire survey,and exploring the current situation of the level of engineering ethics literacy of the Master of Engineering,To provide strong empirical data support for promoting the construction of national new engineering science.On the basis of combing the relevant documents of new engineering,engineering ethics and engineering ethics literacy,explore and analyze the connotation and internal logic of engineering ethics literacy of engineering master.This paper defines engineering ethics literacy as having the ethical awareness of engineering practice,being good at solving ethical problems in engineering practice by combining ethical principles,bottom line principles and relevant specific situations,being good at listening to multiple opinions to achieve internal coordination and decision-making in the engineering community,timely correcting relevant ethical norms and norms involved in engineering practice,and helping to establish the thinking and ability of relevant ethical security system.In order to determine the evaluation index system of the engineering ethics literacy of the Master of Engineering,Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory is used as the theoretical model,supplemented by the competency model theory and the comprehensive development theory of human beings,with the help of the word cloud assistance method of Python software,the key word cloud of the engineering ethics literacy is generated,and the Delphi method is used to carry out the questionnaire consultation for experts,and finally the professional competence,integrity and responsibility,fairness and justice The evaluation index system of engineering ethics literacy composed of 5 first-level indicators and 31 observation points to safeguard the social and public interests and adhere to sustainable development.The questionnaire is prepared according to the evaluation index system of engineering ethics literacy.The research objects are mainly 573 engineering masters from three science and engineering universities in H Province.The indicators at all levels are weighted by the combination of analytic hierarchy process and entropy weight method,and the level of engineering ethics literacy of engineering masters is measured by grey correlation method,The cluster analysis method is used to explore the differences and evolution trend of the level of engineering ethics literacy of the Master of Engineering,and analyze the overall,specific and differences of the engineering ethics literacy of the Master of Engineering.Through diagnostic analysis of research data,suggestions are proposed to enhance the engineering ethics literacy of new engineering talents from the perspectives of the teaching philosophy,curriculum and teachers of engineering ethics education,as well as enterprises and the country.Firstly,practice the teaching philosophy of engineering ethics education;Secondly,enrich the teaching curriculum of engineering ethics education;Thirdly,cultivate teachers related to engineering ethics education;Fourthly,enterprises should strengthen ethical infiltration in the process of engineering practice;Fifth,the country should strengthen the construction of the engineering ethics system in China’s engineering community.At the same time,the research conclusion is drawn that,firstly,the overall level of engineering ethics literacy of the Master of Engineering is above the average level,and there is still room for improvement.Secondly,from the perspective of various dimensions,the low-level literacy goals in engineering ethics literacy perform better than the high-level cultivation goals.Finally,among the four background information differences,there are significant differences in the engineering ethics literacy of Master of Engineering in terms of gender and school level factors,while there is no difference in professional category factors and work or internship experience factors.
