According to research and statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics,at the end of 2022,the elderly population aged 60 and above in China was 280 million, accounting for 19.8% of the total population.Among them, there were 210 million people aged 65 and above, accounting for 14.9% of the national population. The aging trend caused by the transformation of population structure is constantly increasing, and it is about to face the peak of aging. The issue of elderly care has become an unavoidable challenge for the entire society.Regarding the challenges in the context of aging, the report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposes to "implement the national strategy of actively responding to population aging, promote the realization of basic elderly care services for all elderly people." The industry and academia actively explore elderly care service models and service applications to address population aging issues. The combined application of theory and products provides strong support for the elderly care industry, bringing many opportunities for elderly product design. At the same time, the rapid increase in the elderly population will also put forward higher requirements for elderly products and services in the past. The average standardized products produced under the background of industrialization in the past can no longer meet the diverse needs of current users.Inclusive design advocates respecting user diversity and reflecting a caring and empathetic mindset.Starting from the theory of inclusive design, this article conducts design research on elderly users through the carrier of daily care products.Firstly, the definition and development process of inclusive design were summarized, and the core theories and process methods were studied and summarized. The process of "four stages and eight activities" was used throughout the entire text;Secondly, from the physiological and psychological characteristics and daily behavioral habits of the elderly to the daily care products related to the elderly, data organization and analysis are conducted to analyze the current situation of the products to avoid the problems raised from reappearing in the practical process;Based on the above analysis, conduct in-depth research on elderly users to obtain possible needs, and focus on the design points of subsequent chapters.Based on the analysis of elderly users and products in the early stage, draw a design strategy for elderly daily care products based on the concept of inclusive design.Propose design strategy research from the perspectives of ability, psychology, and users,in order to comprehensively optimize the user experience and improve the product’s tolerance for different elderly populations.
