Since the official implementation of the "double reduction" policy, students have been given less homework after school, and the approach to children’s development has gradually shifted from traditional subject-based education to comprehensive development. As one of the main ways for children to get in touch with and learn about the world, extracurricular reading has a new opportunity. And children’s reading is stage-specific,with children’s reading preferences changing as they get older.Children’s demand for books is high, and children’s books at home tend to be unused. There is no community book-sharing system for children on the market at present,so children’s book-sharing devices have great prospects for development. Therefore,we research on designing a commercial children’s book-sharing device for communities from the perspective of user needs, intending to reduce children’s reading costs and solve the problem of unused children’s book resources in society.Firstly,we obtained the initial needs of children and parents for the children’s book-sharing device through questionnaire research and interviews, sorted and ranked the user needs by the KJ method and KANO model, and used QFD to transform the user needs into technical points for the subsequent design.Secondly, this paper decomposes the conceptual design and uses the functional analysis method to design the functional principle of the product;analyzes the restricted factors of the product design from the ergonomic point of view;and finally uses the semantic differential method to obtain the design intention of the product and guide the subsequent modeling design. And the synthesis of the conceptual design scheme was carried out through the above process, and a preliminary design scheme was obtained. Finally, the product evaluation system of the children’s book-sharing device was established. The evaluation index weights were obtained using BWM.Based on the rough TOPSIS comprehensive expert evaluation data. The best solution was selected for refining the design and verifying its rationality. This study which is based on the actual project was conducted from the perspectives of "resource recycling" and "comprehensive development of children".By integrating Kano-QFD,functional analysis, semantic differential method,BWM,rough set theory,TOPSIS,and other innovative design methods and decision models,a systematic innovative design and decision process for electromechanical products is constructed.A children’s book-sharing device is designed, which effectively solves the problems of idle children’s reading resources and uneven distribution of book resources. This study has certain practical application value.
