| In the context of the comprehensive promotion and development of China’s rural revitalization strategy,rapid social development has brought the following hidden dangers to the villages,with problems such as great damage to the natural environment,chaotic architectural layout,a rudimentary overall construction system,a lack of regional culture,unreasonable economic costs and a low quality of overall village architecture.With this background,this paper attempts to study the transformation of village dwellings from the perspective of locality.Firstly,by combing through the relevant theoretical studies,the theoretical meanings,and the current status of the literature on the renovation of residential houses and locality,and analyzing the characteristics of the unity of "people,place and time" in the design of locality,this paper will pave the way for the application of in situ theory to village residential houses.Secondly,an analysis of the methods for transforming local village residences is carried out,which is elaborated from four aspects: local research,integration with natural texture,adaptation of technology and cost,and collaborative creation.Subsequently,ten specific methods are proposed based on the framework of transformation methods and local characteristics,which include five dimensions: synergy,adaptability,cultural sensitivity,appropriateness,and companionship.The first four categories focus on five core design elements: people,environment,culture,construction,and cost,and are reflected in exploration of eight aspects: "village resident needs,terrain and environmental conditions,climate conditions,cultural context and texture,residential style,local materials,technological adaptation,and economic practicality".Additionally,an implicit strategy of joint creation is proposed,which is in line with the local time dimension.Finally,based on the above-mentioned methods and strategies,we conduct an in-depth study on the in situ nature of village dwellings in the suburban area of Ezhou City and sort out the evolution of the construction form,living form,structure and construction form of village dwellings in different regions and times,and summarize the existing problems of village dwellings in Ezhou City.Based on the locality design strategy and the current situation of villages in Ezhou,the design of locality renovation of Baotuan village dwellings in Shawo Township,Ezhou City,proposes a multi-dimensional in situ renovation strategy: firstly,to meet the needs of the subject;secondly,to adapt to the natural environment,with the layout conforming to the topography,wind direction,light,and precipitation;thirdly,to respond to the human context dimension,continuing the traditional layout and village interaction space;fourthly,to adapt to The fourth is to adjust to the ontological construction,the principles of house renovation,indigenous materials,and economic applicability;the fifth is joint creation,to the future development of residential houses. |
