Study On The Quality Improvement Strategy Of Public Space In Small Towns Under The Background Of The Reconstruction Of Old Residential Areas

In the new era,China’s urbanization has entered the optimization and upgrading stage from incremental development to stock growth,and in the face of problems such as spatial disorder and low spatial quality in urban,spatial quality improvement has become the endogenous driving force for transformation and development at this stage,which is the stage demand for urban construction from "epitaxial expansion" to "connotative development",and it is also an inevitable requirement for social governance to enter the refinement stage during the urbanization transformation period.As an significant bridge linking the integrated development of cities and villages,small towns play an crucial part in the process of urbanization.As the most basic management unit in a small town,the development direction of small town settlement represents the overall development direction of the town.At present,residential renewal is in full swing in both urban and rural areas,and the old communities in small towns are also facing various problems,and the transformation of old communities in small towns cannot be delayed.However,at present,the academic community has less research on small urban settlements than urban and rural areas,and there is less research on the quality of public space in old residential areas in small towns.The paper focuses on the public space located in the unit-type settlement of small towns,takes the transformation of the old urban community as the background,conducts in-depth investigation and research on the unit-type settlement and its public space,studies the levels and elements affecting the quality of the public space of the unit-type settlement of the small town through the combing of elements,and activates the unittype settlement through the improvement of the quality of the public space,so as to build the strategy of improving and optimizing the quality of the public space of the unit-type settlement of the small town.Based on the above background and the content of the research,the research status of the transformation of old residential areas and the public space of unit-type settlements in small towns is summarized and analyzed,and the progress and ideas of the current academic research are obtained,and then the theoretical cognition of the relevant connotations,characteristics and status quo is carried out,and the unique attributes,status characteristics and contradictions of the public space of the unit-type settlement in small towns are clarified.The feasibility of improving the quality of public space in small town unit-type settlements and the deep-seated problems faced by them are interpreted,and the overall work path for improving the quality of public spaces in unit-type settlements in small towns is built based on the above basic research.Secondly,taking the residential area of Meridian County,Ningshan County,Shaanxi Province as an example,the research objects were thoroughly and meticulously investigated through field surveys,questionnaire surveys,household visits,etc.,and the current characteristics of the Meridian County area were summarized and extracted.The focus of this article is to conduct a detailed problem diagnosis of the current public space function configuration,public space environmental image and the significance of public space places for the public space in the Meridian County area,and to investigate and analyze the residents’ public activity behavior and the management and operation status of the public space,and clarify the current situation and problems of the five levels of public space in the Meridian County area.Finally,through the improvement strategy of the three aspects of physical space,activity organization and management and operation in the public space,such as improving supporting facilities and building a complete community;Create landscape levels and strengthen the image of space;Innovate governance models,establish long-term mechanisms and other strategies.It is hoped that through the renewal and improvement of the public space in the Meridian County area,the feasible strategy for improving the quality of public space in the unit-type settlement of small towns will be summarized,the environmental image of the settlement will be improved,the local culture of the settlement will be inherited,the vitality of the settlement will be activated,and achieve the healthy development of unit-type settlements in small towns.
