Research On Neighborhood-type Group From The Small Towns' Residential Area

In the new historical period, the process of China's urbanization and suburbanization has entered the accelerated phase. Under the guidance of "coordinated development of urban and rural" and "small towns, grand strategy" principles, the small towns have great expansion in the quantity and scale, and become the important carrier of society improvement and rural economic development. With a large number of people, materials and information flowing to small towns, the infrastructure construction gets a great promotion, so the living condition of the small towns has been improved consequentially. Because of the scarcity of land resources in urban area, the large residential areas are constructed in small towns, which cause much more worrying situations and problems. As a representative city mode, the residential area is not suited for the small towns. This unlivable city mode destroys the integrated urban structure, causes chaos traffic jam and monotonous cityscape. The perceptibility and identify ability of small towns are gradually weakened under this city mode, and the original historical culture and local attraction are faded at the same time. The small towns will be replaced by the same residential buildings in the future. The current developing mode is harm to the development of the small towns. On account of the unsatisfactory situation, a suitable city mode should be proposed, which is fitting for our country, keeps the original features of the small towns and creates a new town mode to replace the featureless city mode. Therefore, the author attempts to study the strategy on the neighborhood-type group in small town.After perceiving and thinking of the above problems, the author analyzes the generation of the residential pattern. With studying on the related concepts of the residential area and the drawbacks of the residential area's single pattern, researching on the characteristics and examples of residential area, and reviewing the development and regular patter of the neighborhood-type group at abroad, the author puts forward the necessity of promoting the neighborhood-type group. It is much more appropriate and effective to promote this neighborhood-type group in the range of small towns than in the big cities. In big cities, residential area mode has occupied city space for years, and the urban residents have already got used to resident life. So the neighborhood-type group model is difficult to promote in urban area. Due to the small towns'advantages and traditional styles, the small towns are more suitable for the neighborhood-type group mode. Through the study of programming the internal and external space of the neighborhood-type group mode, considering the close and open relations, paying attention to the atmosphere of the residential place opposite, the authors concludes that this mode are able to make a kind of habitable, prosperous residential space which has close relationship with the regionalism and local culture.
