Currently,with the expanding enrollment scale,vocational education center school of K city faces problems including strain on resources,lack of office spaces for teachers,and shortage of training rooms and skill competition training rooms.In order to solve the said problems,under the support of department at a higher leading level,teaching building extension project has been initiated for vocational education center of K city.In this paper,the reasons for schedule deviation are determined by detailed research and analysis of the project schedule,and effective methods are proposed to enhance the management of project schedule,so as to promote smooth implementation of the project,and make sure the project is delivered in due time to solve a series of problems caused by insufficient enrollment resources in the school.First,research results on project schedule management over the past few years both at home and abroad are analyzed,advanced management experience and technical methods are summarized,and the wide application of many technologies in various industries are meticulously studied,such as project breakdown structure technology,double-code network diagram,critical chain technology,and earned value method.Based on comprehensive analysis of schedule management theories,taking into the actual situation of the teaching building extension project of vocational education center of K city,the planning,execution and management methods are efficiently integrated into the schedule management of the said project,with the key point of the research put on preparation of project schedule by referring to network diagram,as well as planning and design of the overall project schedule based on the total project duration.In order to further ensure the project schedule is scientific and reasonable,the schedule is adjusted by using program evaluation and review technique(PERT)to make it more conform to the project duration.Also,a detailed schedule is made to act as specific reference to the project construction.Upon start of the project,the deviation of the project schedule is quantified by earned value method.According to the data of the first earned value analysis,problems in the preliminary phase are analyzed in depth,and reasons are further analyzed for specific problems,with solutions and measures given for schedule management to optimize the construction schedule.After an interval of time,the second earned value analysis is conducted to validate if the preliminary work is arranged scientifically and efficiently.In this paper,the project schedule is planned and designed by various methods.Meanwhile,the schedule is monitored and controlled,with many measures taken simultaneously to make sure the project is finished on schedule.The research discusses many aspects including project breakdown,schedule preparation,application of earned value method,critical chain technology,and improvement measures for project execution plan.Based on specific requirements for project duration,technology and safety of the extension project,constructive suggestions are put forward from multiple dimensions to provide theoretical support for decision making of the project schedule management,so as to guarantee the timely completion of the project,and effectively solve the problems of insufficient teaching and office spaces for the vocational education center of K city.Also,it will be taken as reference to project schedule management of similar schools.
