| Against the backdrop of the deepening aging population in China,the contradiction between the current situation of outdoor public spaces in sloping residential areas and the needs of the elderly is becoming increasingly prominent.Solving this contradiction is of urgent and important practical significance in today’s era.Yuzhong District of Chongqing is a typical mountainous and hilly city in China.There are many residential areas on slopes in the region,and the aging degree is also one of the regions with high degree in Chongqing.At the same time,there are more and more problems between the current situation of outdoor public space in Yuzhong District Poti Residential Area and the daily life of the elderly.Therefore,it is urgent to solve the problem of insufficient aging adaptability of outdoor public space in Yuzhong District Poti Residential Area.With the outdoor public space and the elderly in Yuzhong District as the research object,this paper aims to provide theoretical reference for the aging design of outdoor public space in sloping residential areas by means of literature theoretical analysis,field survey,questionnaire interview,model illustration,and actual case design in the direction of landscape renewal design.The paper has achieved the following results:(1)The Current Situation of Outdoor Public Space and the Characteristics of Daily Activities of the Elderly in Yuzhong District Poti Residential AreaDue to the influence of slope terrain factors,the outdoor public space of Yuzhong District slope residential area is characterized by small area,irregularity and hierarchy.Among them,narrow roads,long stairs,insufficient functionality,insufficient greening,insufficient parking space,dirty environment,lack of old facilities,insufficient lighting,chaotic traffic system,lack of barrier free facilities,insufficient guidance signs,inadequate management and other issues deserve attention.Through research,the characteristics of daily activity patterns of elderly people in the study area were obtained,including age hierarchy,diversity of activities,social aggregation,domain of residential areas,and the evaluation and needs of elderly people for the residential environment.It was found that the function and design of outdoor public spaces in residential areas interact with the daily activity needs of elderly people,and the relationship between the interaction and the problem of insufficient aging adaptation in residential areas.(2)Elements and design principles of outdoor public space aging design in Yuzhong DistrictBased on case analysis and relevant research and analysis,the constituent elements of aging friendly design were extracted,including the layout of aging friendly facilities,transportation road systems,and public space layout.According to other aging friendly design standards,five sensory experiences,horticultural plants,spatial safety,and social communication were added as elements;At the same time,based on the characteristics and current situation of outdoor public space in Yuzhong District’s sloping residential area,and combined with the needs of the elderly in their daily activities in public space,the design principles of people-oriented,traffic safety,adaptation to local conditions,and diversified and complex public space are proposed.(3)Design Strategy for Aging Adaptability of Outdoor Public Spaces in Slope Residential Areas of Yuzhong DistrictAiming at the outdoor public space in Yuzhong District’s Poti residential area,this paper puts forward three strategies from adjusting the spatial structure to optimizing the walking system,and then to improving the facilities suitable for the old.In terms of adjusting the spatial structure,outdoor public space layout design,outdoor public space node design,and outdoor public space functional design planning should be carried out;In optimizing the walking system,the aging design of the walking network,walking path,and walking experience was studied;In the improvement of elderly facilities,research has been conducted on the layout of elderly facilities,deepening the design of elderly facilities,and improving the spatial configuration of elderly facilities.There are a total of9 types of aging friendly design strategies,and they are explained with model diagrams and schematic diagrams.(4)Design Practice of Outdoor Public Space for Aging in Yuzhong District Poti Residential AreaThree typical residential areas,including the Datianwan area,Guihuayuan Xincun area,and Daijiaxiang area,were selected for design from three aspects: adjusting spatial structure,optimizing pedestrian system,and improving elderly facilities.At the same time,the aging design scheme of outdoor public space in other Yuzhong District Poti residential areas was supplemented. |
