Faced with the increasingly serious process of ageing society,China is actively promoting the reform and adjustment of the elderly care system. And the emergence of new technologies has brought a broad space and opportunity for the development of China’s elderly care system. At present, technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data and cloud computing have gradually penetrated into the field of elderly care services, promoting the modernisation and standardisation of elderly care services, and the elderly care system is actively integrating with new technologies. At the same time, along with the continued decline in the birth rate and the increase in life expectancy, the total demand for institutional care is on the rise.In addition, the rising financial capacity of the elderly and the upgrading of their consumption habits are also creating opportunities for the development of elderly care institutions. As a result, there is a huge potential for the development of institutions with high quality services and diverse content. In this context, this research will focus on the service system of aged-care institutions under the smart senior care model.Using the tools and methods of service design, the advantages of design thinking in gaining insight into user needs and solving complex system problems will be fully utilized to explore the architecture and design practices of the service system of smart aged-care institutions.Firstly, through literature research and desktop research,I gain an in-depth understanding of the emergence and development of smart elderly care in China, and then select typical cases of smart elderly care institutions at home and abroad for comparison and analysis, and summarise the two major development trends of smart elderly care institutions in China. On this basis, field research was conducted to further understand the development status of smart elderly care institutions and the demands of multiple stakeholders through field visits, questionnaire surveys and focus user interviews. At the same time, the service design tool was used to analyse the service system of smart elderly care institutions, summarise the pain points and needs of five types of stakeholders: elders, relatives of elders, institution managers, institution medical staff and caregivers, and gain insight into the unmet needs of the current service system of smart elderly care institutions.Based on this,I introduce five major service aspects of smart elderly care institutions and propose five types of design strategies: "comprehensive demand acquisition strategy, accurate service matching strategy, diversified service supply strategy, emotional service reception strategy and collaborative service management strategy".The system architecture of the intelligent elderly care institution service system is then constructed from three aspects: demand perception layer, data processing layer and service supply layer, and the ecological map of the intelligent elderly care institution product service system based on the elderly care cloud platform is drawn. Finally, the architecture of the nursing care product service system of the smart elderly institution is proposed, and the design practice of the medical assistant system for medical and nursing staff is completed. This research takes a comprehensive and systematic view of the needs and pain points of the service system of China’s smart aged-care institutions from the perspective of service design, proposes a strategy for building a comprehensive smart aged-care institution service system, and establishes product service contents for smart aged-care institutions through design practice,in order to provide some references for researchers and practitioners in the field of smart aged-care,and provide innovative ideas for the further development of smart aged-care institutions.
