The quality assessment of urban renewal becomes a significant concern as it transitions from incremental growth to stock development stage.This study investigates how the release of fertility potential affects the quality assessment of neighborhood regeneration and renovation in urban renewal.This study highlights that urban redevelopment should unleash the fertility potential and meet the demands of the child-age population in order to enhance the long-term growth of the city,given the dropping fertility rate and the low fertility intention of the child-age population in China.The research focuses on area renewal and transformation and investigates the fertility potential from urban renewal-related aspects using sequential relationship analysis and fuzzy comprehensive assessment approach.To develop the standards of quality evaluation of urban renewal transformation in urban areas,a theoretical framework must first be established.Second,an evaluation system made up of five dimensions — architecture,transportation,supporting infrastructure,function,and landscape—and 25 secondary indicators was created by searching the literature,speaking with locals,and gathering expert comments.The regeneration quality of the area was next assessed from the standpoint of utilizing the fertility potential in the context of the ongoing urban regeneration situation.Finally,the instances were chosen for field investigation and research.According to the research findings,support,transportation,architecture,and landscape are the next most important factors,followed by the functional component.Weights are allocated to each index factor based on the sequential relationship analysis approach,and the quality of urban renewal is assessed using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.The findings indicate that the old city area’s reproductive potential excavation score is 0.368,which is good overall.The traffic dimension has the highest score and belongs to the excellent grade,while the supporting and landscape dimensions have the lowest score and belong to the medium grade.Finally,comprehensive optimization measures in various aspects are proposed in the context of the current situation of the area’s renewal and transformation.This study provides a comprehensive evaluation system for urban renewal projects with multiple participants,and promotes the consideration of urban renewal in meeting fertility needs,providing a reference for solving the fertility problem of the population,as well as adding relevance and depth to studies assessing the quality of urban renewal and other related topics.
