Landscape Reconstruction Design Of Industrial Block From The Perspective Of Collective Memory

Each city has its own history,depicting its own urban characteristics,and recording that unforgettable memory.With the acceleration of urbanization,people are driven by commercial and economic interests.The fast-paced urban construction has greatly impacted the original cultural and historical environment of the city,causing a gap in the memory of urban residents.The originally diverse lifestyle has become single,and residents living in the city have become indifferent.The replacement of block construction has led to a lack of cultural confidence among the local people.As a reality of industrial civilization,industrial blocks are also a carrier of the collective memory of the previous generation of industrial workers.Whether starting from the "Lower Tarjir Charter" and continuing until the "Wuxi Declaration",the topic of protecting industrial blocks continues to rise in popularity.Nowadays,the pursuit of internet celebrity mode in industrial block renovation projects has become a reality,and designers’ original intentions for renovation have begun to waver.There are fewer and fewer updated ideas to search for renovation from the industrial block itself.What we have lost is not only the characteristics of the neighborhood,but also the cohesion and sense of belonging of the city.The souls of the residents in the neighborhood have nowhere to be found.The renovation of industrial blocks simply regards them as an old site,a place without industrial properties but filled with old objects.What we should face is: how can the protection and renewal of industrial blocks ensure that historical value and collective memory are not lost? What aspects should we start from in the protection project? What criteria should be used to determine the final outcome? Therefore,this paper will study and discuss the renewal and protection of industrial blocks from the perspective of "collective memory" from the above aspects.The author conducts research based on practical objects.Firstly,the development background of industrial blocks and the research background of collective memory are analyzed,and the research purpose and significance of this article are summarized.The research ideas and innovation points of this article are clarified,which are divided into innovation in research methods and innovation in research content.Subsequently,the research on collective memory and industrial blocks both domestically and internationally was summarized,providing theoretical and methodological guidance for the updating of the practical objects of this article.Through an overview of theoretical research on collective memory,including the concept of collective memory,the classification of elements of collective memory,the concept of industrial blocks,and the classification of industrial blocks,the cognitive mechanism of collective memory on industrial blocks was analyzed.Next,four domestic and foreign cases were studied,and relevant empirical insights were obtained from the selection,construction,reproduction,and continuation of collective memory through mass participation in four aspects,Provide a basis for the subsequent renovation and update,and elaborate on the relevant theoretical basis used in this design strategy.The paper is based on the existing main problems of industrial blocks,and uses case studies as the basic method to summarize the strategy of using the "collective memory" theory to build industrial block renewal methods.Next,the research object of this paper will be analyzed,elaborating on the historical development and current situation analysis of the Yancheng Meat Factory neighborhood.Through on-site research,questionnaire research,and interview research,the basic characteristics and existing related problems of the collective memory of the Meat Factory neighborhood will be summarized,and solutions will be introduced from the perspective of problems.Finally,this article uses theory to guide practice and completes the renovation and updating of the meat factory block from three aspects: preliminary site planning,overall design layout,and detailed landscape design.The research results of this paper are not only of practical significance for the Yancheng Meat Factory neighborhood to continue urban history,promote industrial spirit,and awaken collective memory.At the same time,it provides a reference for the transformation and renewal of similar urban industrial blocks in the current era.
