Research On The Renewal Design Of Historical And Cultural Blocks From The Perspective Of Urban Memory

Urban context is the temperament and spirit of a city,the aggregation and derivatives of the historical and cultural elements contained in a city,and the important embodiment of the unique characteristics of a city.As an important part of urban context,historical and cultural blocks and their life forms are the material carriers carrying this kind of temperament and spirit.They not only record the cultural information of the city in the past,but also continuously record the current and future urban humanity.They not only show the natural evolution track of the traditional social life and cultural customs of the city,but also have the dynamic development.Under the current urban development context of assimilation,the historical and cultural blocks that can inherit the city memory are weakened and disintegrated,and gradually become the "island" of the city due to the lack of local identity in the modernization process.Therefore,the research on historical and cultural blocks should break the shackles of renewal and development from a single material level,and the renewal should take historical and cultural blocks as the carrier.Through cultural mining of urban memory and reappearance of scene elements,it is an urgent problem to be solved at present to rebuild the vitality of street space and continue the urban context.Based on this background,this thesis takes Rongxiang historical and cultural block as the research object to guide the renewal of historical and cultural block from the perspective of urban memory.Through the analysis of basic connotation and urban memory elements,this thesis explores a new vision and feasible strategy to guide the renewal of historical block,and then puts forward the renewal strategy from four aspects: memory reconstruction,memory continuation,memory re-implantation and memory stitching.By digging and studying the physical memory elements and non-physical memory elements such as street styles and cultural features of historical and cultural blocks,the accumulation of the constituent elements of urban memory is formed,and through the extraction and reorganization of memory elements,the historical scenes are reproduced in a story and the clues of urban memory are continued through the design techniques of spatial narration.Urban cultural symbols are implanted in the design to evoke the historical and cultural image,catalyze the composite function of the streets,and activate the vitality of the daily life of the streets.From the perspective of urban memory,this thesis proposes the way of street organic renewal,hoping to improve the spatial quality of historical and cultural blocks and continue the local memory of the city,jointly promote the construction of city residents’ sense of place,so as to promote the renewal of historical and cultural blocks to actively integrate into the process of urban development and achieve benign progress.
