Research On Renovation Design Of Existing Industrial Buildings From The Perspective Of Collective Memory ——Take Huainan Paper Mill As An Example

With the rapid development of China’s economy,the city’s industrial structure has been significantly adjusted so that traditional industries have been impacted.A large number of industrial buildings,represented by factory buildings,have been widely shelved,abandoned,and become a negative factor hindering urban development.For this problem,the strategy of "knocking down and rebuilding" can improve the efficiency of site renewal in a short period of time,but it also completely erases the last vestiges of the city’s industrial development.This not only destroys the emotional identity and collective memory of urban residents to the existing industrial plants,but also is not conducive to the development and continuation of urban spiritual civilization.From the perspective of collective memory,this paper will discuss how to reconstruct the memory landscape,protect the emotional identity and continue the historical development of the city through collective memory.Through the design of the renewal of the representative building of Huainan Paper Mill,this paper try to provide new ideas for the renewal of the existing industrial plants,so that the existing industrial plants can become an excellent carrier for passing on the collective memory on the basis of meeting the development needs of the times.This paper firstly describes the research background,purpose and significance of the renewal and transformation of existing industrial plants,and composes and summarizes the relevant literature at home and abroad.Then define the relevant concepts from the theoretical level,explain the relevant theories of this research,and analyze the elements and application of collective memory and the basic ways of renewal and transformation of existing industrial plants.Secondly,it focuses on the strategies related to the spatial renewal and transformation of existing industrial plants under collective memory.It first points out the two directions of "original style restoration" and "architectural space regeneration" in the renewal of existing industrial plants.Then,through relevant typical cases,this paper discusses the renewal and transformation of existing industrial buildings from the perspective of collective memory elements expression,analyzing the preservation,continuation and strengthening of external and internal collective memory elements,as well as the extraction and new forms of collective memory elements expression.It illustrates the diversity,recognizability,symbiosis,continuity and other characteristics of existing industrial plants from the perspective of collective memory and the strategies for their use.Next,investigate and analyze the current situation of Huainan paper mills and related elements by means of questionnaires and inspections.It clarifies the basic situation of Huainan Paper Mill,its development history,problems and the residents’ requests for renovation.Then,the spatial elements,physical elements,symbolic elements and textual elements are analyzed separately to clarify the design target positioning and overall planning.Finally,complete the design practice of the renewal and transformation of representative buildings of Huainan Paper Mill from the perspective of collective memory,that is,the exploration and practice of a series of space transformation such as cultural and leisure activity center,art market and LOFT office space.This is intended to serve as a reference for the renovation and utilization of other existing industrial plants.Fig[73] Table[4] Ref[38]...
