At present,China has entered a new journey of Chinese modernization, and the importance of urban ecological civilization construction is increasing. With the vigorous promotion of the healthy China strategy, health has become the core of the future construction of space environment. However, rapid urban development is squeezing outdoor public space and reducing the frequency of people going out for healthy activities.Meanwhile, busy work has a negative impact on people’s physical and mental state. The urban waterfront park,as a natural blue and green space,is an important carrier to improve the public’s physical, psychological and social health. The construction of happy River and Lake is also in full swing. In the field of landscape architecture,it has become an important issue in the construction of urban ecological civilization how to optimize the environmental elements of urban waterfront parks and enhance the positive role of urban waterfront parks in guiding people to carry out healthy behaviors.Based on this, this paper selects six typical urban waterfront parks in Nanjing as research samples.Guided by health behaviors, this paper studies the correlation between environmental elements of urban waterfront parks and population health behaviors, builds an environmental optimization strategy for urban waterfront parks applicable to the healthy development trend, and optimizes and improves the design of Nanhu Park in Nanjing. It provides reference for the construction of waterfront park in the future. The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:Firstly, through theoretical research,it is clear that urban waterfront parks can effectively promote the frequency of people’s contact with the natural environment and carry out healthy behaviors,so as to improve the health level of people in physical, psychological and social dimensions. On this basis, the evaluation index system of city waterfront park under the guidance of health behavior is constructed.Among them, the indicators of environmental factors include 13 indicators in the three dimensions of spatial configuration, waterfront interface and functional facilities. The indicators of health behaviors are selected as the aggregation degree of health behaviors at the macro level and the frequency density of health behaviors of different types of people at the micro level, which complement each other.Secondly,an empirical study was conducted on six typical urban waterfront parks in Nanjing. The basic data of each sample park was collected by Baidu heat map, behavioral note method,Arc GIS software analysis and other methods. The evaluation indicators of environmental factors and health behaviors of the sample parks were quantitatively analyzed, and their current characteristics were summarized, and then the correlation between the two was analyzed.Multiple unitary regression models were constructed with environmental factor index as independent variable and health behavior index as dependent variable for further verification. The results showed that each environmental element within the dimension of spatial configuration, waterfront interface and functional facilities could promote or inhibit the health behavior of population, respectively. Finally, from the three aspects of spatial configuration, waterfront interface and functional facilities, this paper proposed the environmental optimization strategy of urban waterfront park guided by health behavior, and actually applied it in the case of Nanjing Nanhu Park to carry out targeted optimization and improvement,in order to prove the feasibility of the strategy and provide useful reference for the planning strategies and methods of urban waterfront park in the future. On this basis, the paper expounds the innovation points and shortcomings of this paper, and makes prospects for further research in the future.
