| With the continuous deepening of globalization and the rapid advancement of urbanization in China, different cultural communities are facing the constraints of standardization and homogenization, and many cities have carried out large-scale demolition and reconstruction of historical buildings carrying local cultural memory, resulting in the destruction of the continuity of urban context and the crisis of cultural identity. As a historical legacy carrying the unique porcelain-making culture and memory of Jingdezhen, the thousand-year-old porcelain capital, how to better inherit cultural memory, enhance cultural self-confidence and construct cultural identity through design and creation has become the focus of this study.Firstly, based on the cultural memory theory of German scholars Jan Assmann and Aleida Assmann, this paper analyzes the feasibility of the theory to intervene in the research of the renewal design of Jingdezhen Lane, and combines Nora’s memory field theory to extend the perspective of cultural memory theory from the three levels of entity, function and symbol.According to the media dimension of Aleida Assmann’s cultural memory, the cultural memory elements of Jingdezhen Lane are extracted and divided into three aspects:material space elements, event memory-event memory elements, human memory-sensory elements and embodied elements, and a theoretical framework of spatial design and expression of cultural memory in Jingdezhen Lane is constructed.Secondly, this paper selects the three Lane areas of Taoyangli,Laoyatan Community and Yuyao Community in Zhushan District of Jingdezhen City as the research objects, adopts the research methods of field research and questionnaire survey.sorts out the current situation of Lane and the existing problems of cultural memory, and finds that the inheritance of cultural memory in Lane in Jingdezhen faces the following dilemmas:first, the main body of memory is lost, and the cultural continuity is broken;Second, the memory carrier decays and the functional expression of the place is missing;Third, the object of memory is weakened, and the cultural atmosphere tends to be commercialized. Finally, this paper explores the design strategy of Jingdezhen Lane renewal based on cultural memory theory, that is,the arousal mechanism-extracting microscopic elements and repairing broken memory;Refactoring mechanism-integrating storage media and implanting emotional components;Solidification mechanism-refining expressions and building cultural identity. It provides certain theoretical reference and guiding significance for the introduction of cultural memory theory into the spatial renewal design research of Jingdezhen Lane and other old urban areas. |
