| Originally built in the mid-19 th century,Haikou’s cavalcade neighbourhoods have survived the storms of the past 160 years and are still in existence today.However,in the context of the new era,this traditional commercial space has been subject to the impact of new commercial formats and has become increasingly unsuited to the needs of the times.This paper combines the concepts put forward in the "Management Measures for the Protection,Repair and Enhancement of the Historical and Cultural Quarter of Riding Buildings in Longhua District,Haikou" and the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan for the Development of Tourism in Haikou",and uses the experiential commercial space as a design study from the perspective of improving and optimising the tourism experience space and building a diversified tourism consumption environment.This paper explores how to enhance the experiential nature of the commercial space in the old Cavalry Street,to better showcase the regional characteristics of Hainan,and to provide people with a better tourism consumption experience.This paper takes the commercial space of Zhongshan Road Riding House in Haikou as the research object and explores the application of experience design in the design of commercial space of Zhongshan Road Riding House in Haikou through practice.The study consists of six chapters: Chapter 1 and 2 outline the background of the topic and related research,provide an overview of the theories related to the Old Riding Street and experiential commercial space in Haikou,and analyse the current situation of research and case studies at home and abroad.Chapter 3 provides a comprehensive overview of the current situation of the commercial space in the Old Cavalry Street on Zhongshan Road in Haikou through field research,and a detailed analysis of the classification of commercial space and the structure of architectural space.This chapter presents a multi-faceted analysis of the commercial space in the neighbourhood,the external space of the shops,the internal space of the shops and the overall commercial space,and summarises the problems that exist in the practical application of the commercial space of the Cavalcade.The fourth chapter summarises the design principles and strategies applicable to the commercial space of Zhongshan Road in Haikou,providing a theoretical basis and methodological guidance for the design practice of Zhongshan Road experiential commercial space.Chapter 5 provides theoretical and practical guidance on the current situation and characteristics of the commercial spaces in the old cavalry streets of Zhongshan Road,and combines them with specific projects for design practice.According to the design principles and strategies,the overall commercial planning and design of Zhongshan Road is carried out,the overall image of the colonnade space and shop exteriors is enhanced,and the experience design practice is focused on some of the node spaces.Chapter 6 illustrates the future development trend of the commercial space of the Riding House and the shortcomings and outlook of the research.The Old Riding Street is the city card of Haikou,the memory and soul of the people.It is hoped that the practical research in this paper will better enhance the tourism consumption experience space,build a diversified tourism consumption environment,and accelerate the revitalisation of the commercial space of the Old Riding Street in Haikou,thereby improving the international visibility of the brand of Haikou’s tourism image. |
