With the development of urbanization and population aggregation in China, the demand for medical treatment in large comprehensive hospitals has surged, leading to the construction trend of large comprehensive hospitals in the past two decades. In this context, the hospital street model, which has the advantages of organizing a large amount of transportation and integrating complex functions, has become a commonly used organizational model for large comprehensive hospitals. As people’s demand for medical treatment continues to develop towards high quality, the hospital street space has gradually developed into a multi-functional compound space instead of a main traffic street for purely organizing people and logistics, such as rest space, medical function extension space, comprehensive service space, physical environment adjustment space and healing space. Therefore,it has also brought new trends in the development of medical streets: the composite superposition of functions, the diverse combination of spaces, and the improvement of the demand for experience.New types of space will also be accompanied by new demands for the photothermal environment and the current status of the photothermal environment. At present, research mainly focuses on outpatient halls or corridors as independent research objects to study the light and thermal environment of hospitals. However, the research field of integrating hospital streets as a complete and coherent space to study the light and thermal environment is relatively insufficient, and the summary of optimization strategies for hospital streets in hot summer and cold winter areas is relatively insufficient. The purpose of this study is to obtain the light and thermal environment requirements and current problems of hospital streets in hot summer and cold winter areas through literature research and on-site research. And through literature research, case studies, and numerical simulation methods,a comprehensive hospital street in hot summer and cold winter areas with strong operability and technically sound optimization strategies for the light and thermal environment of the hospital street space has been summarized. The main research content is as follows:Firstly, through literature research, the development of hospital street space and the spatial changes brought about by new demands are identified.A literature review is conducted on existing research, analyzing the factors affecting the light and thermal environment of hospital streets, and summarizing the directions for optimization. Then, through research and actual measurement of the large comprehensive hospital street space in the hot summer and cold winter areas newly built in the past10 years, the current problems of the light and thermal environment were summarized:lack of basic lighting, insufficient design of key details, lack of flexibility, poor atmosphere, and five current problems that can optimize the light and thermal environment in hot summer. Finally, through theoretical research,on-site investigation, and numerical simulation, targeted optimization strategies for the light and thermal environment of large-scale comprehensive hospital streets in hot summer and cold winter areas were summarized from four directions: space, interface, plane layout, and artificial lighting. The article hopes to summarize the existing needs and current problems of hospital street space in large comprehensive hospitals in the hot summer and cold east regions through its own research.Provide targeted light and heat optimization strategies with strong operability, timeliness, and regional specificity for the construction of large-scale comprehensive hospitals in hot summer and cold winter regions, and propose design references for the upcoming new round of high-quality large-scale comprehensive hospital construction trend in China’s balanced allocation of medical resources in urban areas.
