Phased array radar uses electronic scanning to control the antenna beam direction,which has unique advantages over traditional mechanical radar,such as beam agility,strong anti-interference capability,and versatility.It is widely used in military and civilian fields,such as missile interception,weather forecasting,and aircraft control.This thesis studies two key technologies for multi-panel digital array transmit and receive beamforming based on the application requirements of a certain airborne early warning radar: data transmission technology and beam scanning control technology.Specific work includes the following points:Firstly,based on the data transmission requirements of radar beamforming,the data transmission architecture design,low-level interface driver,and system integration design are completed.Secondly,based on the data transmission architecture,the beam control system framework is designed,and the hardware implementation based on large-scale programmable logic devices is completed.Functions such as radar multi-panel work control and switching,radar timing generation,beam direction control,TWS(Track While Scan)and TAS(Track and Search)scanning mode switching,and receive beamforming are realized.In the design and implementation process,the following innovative points are made:1.For the multi-panel radar system of this project,a parameterized design method is adopted to ensure the flexibility and portability of the entire system.2.Different panel work modes are designed for the multi-panel radar to achieve flexible switching and synchronization of each panel.3.The CORDIC algorithm is used to calculate the wave control code,which is more resource-saving and improves the flexibility and accuracy of wave control code calculation compared to the traditional lookup table method.4.The combination of TWS and TAS working modes of phased array radar is realized.Compared with traditional TAS radar,there is more preparation time between adjacent tracking wave positions,which reduces the burden on the upper computer and data link and fully utilizes the hardware advantages.Finally,a test plan is designed,and the data transmission and beamforming function tests are completed to verify the correctness of the system functions.
