With the development of modern industry, all kinds of industrial equipment works under a more and more strict environment. Many new requirements are put forward for the development of nondestructive testing. Ultrasonic phased array inspection technology, as a new research hotspot in the field of nondestructive testing, has begun to take on more testing tasks owing to its visual imaging, high detection resolution, convenient operation, etc. It has become a development trend of nondestructive testing technology.The purpose of this paper is to complete the design of hardware platform of the whole ultrasonic phased array testing system, and based on this hardware platform, to validate the related technology of ultrasonic phased array inspection. The main research work is as follows:(1)After learning the basic principle of ultrasonic phased array inspection technology, on the basis of it, this paper researches ultrasonic phased array transceiver circuit design as well as the related knowledge of digital signal processing, and puts forward a hardware platform solution.(2)According to the characteristics of ultrasonic echo pulse, a receiving beam forming algorithm is proposed based on digital orthogonal envelope detection. This algorithm can convert high frequency signal into baseband signal, reduce the sampling rate and alleviate system storage pressure. At the same time, it can also keep echo signal amplitude information, the algorithm is superior to the traditional ultrasonic phased array receiving algorithm.(3)Completed the design of sending and receiving circuit of ultrasonic phased array detection system, It may launch high voltage pulse to drive ultrasonic array transducer. At the same time, the received ultrasonic echo signal can be amplified, filtered, modulus converted, etc.(4)Completed the FPGA design and processing of inner digital signals. It mainly includes time delay energization, LVDS interface, time delay compensation, beam synthesis, orthogonal envelope detection module design and so on. Simulation of these modules has been carried on and obtains the desired effect.The results show that the related modules of hardware platform in ultrasonic phased array testing system run normally, all comply with the design requirements. They can realize ultrasonic transmission, echo signal processing and other functions. This paper has laid a solid foundation for the practical application of ultrasonic phased array testing system.
