| With the rapid expansion of Company J’s global business in recent years,in response to the requirements of the company’s information strategy,all overseas branches,subsidiaries and factories must adopt the same accounting system as the group-Oracle EBS.However,in the Oracle EBS promotion project of the Southeast Asia factory,the company’s information promotion project team found that the existing database encoding method could not achieve the arbitrary switch between small languages and Chinese and English,and the promotion project was hindered.After urgent discussion at the company’s high-level meeting,it was decided to immediately set up a project to convert the coding method and upgrade the underlying database.The upgrade and migration of enterprise database is a very complex and wide-ranging process,and the project is very tight from project approval to the latest delivery date,but for the smooth implementation of Company J’s informatization strategic planning,this project is imperative.The research content of this paper is based on the use of modern advanced project schedule management tools and technologies to improve the progress management of Company J’s database upgrade project when the original project schedule is seriously lagging behind or even cannot be launched,and it is necessary to ensure that the project is launched on time.This paper takes the database upgrade project of Company J as the research object and takes the project progress management as the starting point.Firstly,the basic situation of the research object in this paper is introduced,and the current situation of its schedule management is analyzed step by step,and it is found that the original project schedule of the project is not scientific,the resource allocation is unreasonable,and the construction period estimation is inaccurate,resulting in the final project schedule can not guide the project members to complete the tasks according to the regulations.Secondly,this paper focuses on the scientific process of project schedule management,organically combines the tools of project schedule management with technology and distributed team member communication and collaborative management,re-decomposes tasks,creates activity lists,and optimizes project resource allocation,and also uses plan review technology,key chain method,and project schedule compression tools to optimize the project schedule and compile a new project schedule.Finally,in the progress implementation control and quality assurance of the project,the rules and regulations of the project,the guarantee of communication and cooperation,as well as the pyramid thinking and PDCA closed-loop principle are proposed to ensure that the optimized schedule of the project can be implemented smoothly,and the final project is launched on time,and the actual construction period is shortened by nearly 20% compared with the original planned duration.This paper mainly studies the progress management problem of Company J’s database upgrade project by the methods and techniques of project schedule management,and strives to solve the problem of lagging progress and difficulty in launching the database upgrade project of Company J through scientific project schedule management methods.At the same time,it provides practical experience for the progress management of distributed team information projects in the future,and can also provide a certain reference for the progress management of similar database upgrade and migration projects. |
