| In 2011,the first China-Europe Express departed from Chongqing.Over the years,with the support of policies and the participation of various parties,China-Europe Express has developed rapidly,with more routes,more frequent trains and regular operation.The opening of the China-Europe Express has provided new trade transportation options for domestic export enterprises,enhanced their trade facilitation,promoted their export efficiency and product technology upgrading,further enhanced their export competitiveness,and provided new impetus for their foreign trade development.This paper reviews the literature on China-Europe freight trains,export technology complexity and the relationship between infrastructure and export technology complexity.From three aspects of trade facilitation,technology spillover effect and positive signal effect,this paper analyzes the possible ways to improve the technical complexity of export from the opening of China-Europe Express.First of all,in order to explore the impact of the opening of China-Europe Railway Express on the technological complexity of enterprises’ export,this paper constructs a multi-period differential model,selects representative enterprise-level data of communication equipment,computer and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries from2010 to 2014 as research samples,and calculates the technological complexity of enterprises’ export.And combined with the opening information of China-Europe freight train empirical test.Then,in order to explore the heterogeneity of the impact of the opening of China-Europe freight trains on the export technological complexity of enterprises,this paper conducts heterogeneity test from two perspectives of region and enterprise size.Finally,in order to study the mechanism of China-Europe freight trains on the technological complexity of enterprises’ export,this paper uses the mediation effect model and takes enterprise innovation as the intermediary variable to test the mechanism.The empirical results of this paper show that:(1)Compared with the provinces that have not opened the China-Europe Express service,the enterprises in the provinces that have opened the China-Europe Express service have a more significant increase in the export technical complexity,indicating that the opening of the China-Europe Express service can promote the growth of enterprises’ export technical complexity,which is conducive to the improvement of enterprises’ export competitiveness.On this basis,the robustness test is carried out by propensity score matching and placebo test to ensure the robustness and reliability of the benchmark test.(2)The opening of China-Europe Express has a stronger role in promoting the technological complexity of export of enterprises and smes in eastern China.(3)By promoting the improvement of enterprises’ innovation level,the China-Europe Express can improve the technological content of enterprises’ export products,and thus increase the technological complexity of enterprises’ export.Finally,this paper summarizes the main conclusions of the study and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions,including continuing to vigorously develop China-Europe Express,giving full play to its positive role,accurately positioning service objects,and promoting enterprises to improve their international competitiveness in export trade. |
