Today,driven by knowledge and technology,is the most important symbol of the 21 st century.Enterprises are facing increasingly fierce competition and improving their core competitiveness is an important guarantee for their sustainable development.The main business of GK Group is cargo handling at ports,which are the barometer of the national economy,and are also important key function for China and important support to our economic development.Human resources are the most important resource to support the development of GK Group.How to fully tap the potential of middle level managers and improve their work enthusiasm and initiative is an important guarantee for achieving strategic objectives.The research object of this paper is the middle managers of GK Group,who play a connecting role in operation and production.Excellent middle managers are not only the cornerstone of enterprise development,but also the leaders in charge of the enemy.How to make progress in the cold winter of global economy,it is very important for enterprises to give full play to the advantages of human resources,and the key is to fully mobilize the enthusiasm of middle managers.This requires improvement and optimization on the basis of the existing performance appraisal,to retain more outstanding talents,so as to maximize the benefits of enterprises.By analyzing the current situation of GK Group,combining the current situation of performance appraisal of middle managers in GK Group,taking expectation theory,goal theory and key performance indicator method as theoretical guidance,through 117 questionnaires and 10 precise interviews,the complaints of middle managers on performance appraisal are clarified.And systematically comb and analyze the middle level performance appraisal content,methods and procedures existing problems.By dividing the middle managers into three categories: operation income generation,operation support and logistics service,the performance appraisal scheme is optimized.Through top-down approach and analysis at the same time,a set of performance appraisal scheme for middle managers suitable for GK Group is formulated,which lays a certain foundation for GK Group to reasonably formulate performance appraisal.Based on the current operating status and strategic needs of GK Group,this study not only maximizes the working potential of middle managers of GK Group,gives full play to their subjective initiative and stimulates their work enthusiasm,but also injects new potential energy into the performance reform of state-owned enterprises which has been dormant for many years.It not only has practical significance for GK Group’s middle management performance incentive,but also has a lot of reference value for the same industry or other similar enterprises’ middle management performance assessment.
