In the field of urban transport, due to the rapid expansion of urbanisation, urban road transport has become more and more complex and cumbersome. At the same time, due to the rising material standards of living and the abundance of leisure options such as going out for parties and travel, older people are no longer limited to their familiar surroundings. As a result, elderly people who are not good at using smart interactive devices are faced with difficulties in choosing transport and interchanging,as well as unclear paths for the last kilometre of walking. The technological process cannot ignore the "retired" elderly group, but needs to share the fruits of reform and development with the elderly, reduce the technological gap between them and achieve a high quality of life.Service design is a tool for visualising and analysing the needs of target users and stakeholders along the entire activity chain, maximising the design at macro. The design of age-friendly urban public transport feeder services includes the design of tangible product carriers and intangible service processes. To address the current situation of public transport travel for the elderly,we explore new design opportunities from the perspective of service design, construct an age-friendly urban public transport feeder design strategy, and provide a more convenient, independent and humane travel experience for elderly users through the output of tangible product carriers and intangible service process optimisation design through design optimisation strategies. This project follows the logic of "basic theoretical research→design process and design strategy→user research→service blueprint and service contact analysis→age-appropriate travel service design practice" to arrange the research content and conduct systematic research on the design of new elderly travel services from macro to micro perspectives.Firstly, through literature collection, collation and analysis, this project summarises the research methods and design process of service design, and summarises the current situation of domestic and international research on age-friendly design and service design. On the basis of the theoretical knowledge system, the travel behaviour habits and characteristics of the elderly group are analysed through interviews and questionnaires, and then the non-participant observation method is used to gain an in-depth understanding of the travel behaviour of elderly users, and then the visualisation method is used to show the whole behaviour path of elderly users before, during and after public transport travel,to build a user experience map,and to analyse and come up with design opportunities for the travel connection pain points of the elderly group. Finally, based on the above user research,a service process for the design of age-appropriate urban transport feeder services are constructed, products and their supporting designs that can improve the existing transport feeders are proposed, the functions,interactions,human-machine and shape of the new products are deepened, usability tests are used to evaluate the service system and products. This paper uses service design and user research to improve the difficulties encountered by elderly people in travelling, and to design a new age-appropriate public guide robot and service system for the improvement of public transport services.
