| The problem of ageing in China is becoming increasingly serious, and in the context of a society in which ageing at home is the main way of ageing, residents have increasingly high demands on the construction of the living space environment in settlements. Most of the current research focuses on the ageing-friendly renovation of urban residential areas, including the planning of age-friendly communities and the refinement of the design of the space within residential sets. The living space environment of villages and towns and the living habits of the elderly differ greatly from those of urban areas, but there is a relative lack of research on the ageing-friendly renovation of village living space environment, resulting in the renovation practice mostly taking the research results of urban areas as reference and lacking targeted guidance. The thesis takes the living space environment of villages and towns in southwest China as the research object, starts from a regional perspective, uses the method of pattern language to conduct statistics and analysis on the current situation of the living space environment and the needs of the elderly in villages and towns, grasps the patterns that need to be paid attention to when adapting to ageing and the correlation between patterns, and refines the design framework for adapting to ageing.Firstly, the thesis interprets the theory and methodology of pattern language, sorting out the three characteristics of systematicity, stability and adaptability, refining the three construction steps of pattern formation, establishing inter-pattern association and organising pattern language, and exploring the feasibility of its application to the study of ageing-friendly retrofitting.Secondly, through literature research, the three principles of safety, comfort and participation should be followed when carrying out ageing-friendly retrofitting in the villages and towns in southwest China, and the influences on ageing-friendly retrofitting are analysed from three levels: natural environment, built environment and personal factors. Then,on the basis of the characteristics of the living space environment in the villages and towns in southwest China, field research was conducted on the current situation of the living space environment and the needs of the elderly in the four villages and towns to summarize the elements of the living space environment related to ageing-friendly retrofitting, and more than 40 models were extracted. Finally, based on further questionnaire interviews, statistical analysis of the research data was carried out to grasp the importance of the patterns and the correlation between them, and an attempt was made to propose a pattern language for ageing-friendly retrofitting design in four aspects: village planning, outdoor public space, residential space and structural facilities;and the feasibility of the pattern language to guide ageing-friendly retrofitting was partially verified with the retrofitting design of actual cases. |
