| The postponement rate of engineering doctors has been increasing year by year,and many training quality issues have become increasingly obvious.The postponement issue not only affects the personal career development of each doctoral student,but also affects the cost,resource input and efficiency of the training of doctoral students in colleges and universities.This research focuses on the basic problem of postponement of engineering doctoral students,adopts qualitative research methods,and through indepth interviews with engineering doctoral students and their supervisors,explores the main links and key events that affect engineering doctoral students’ postponement,and deeply explores the impact of doctoral students.Deep-seated factors in the delay of life.The study draws the following conclusions: The reasons affecting the delay of engineering doctoral students can be divided into four levels.1.Anomie of the role of mentor.The influence of tutors on the academic completion of doctoral students runs through all stages of doctoral students from admission to graduation.First of all,in terms of the mentor’s guidance behavior,the difficulty of the research direction determined by the mentor for the doctoral students at the admission stage directly affects the smooth progress of the doctoral students’ academic progress;the guidance behavior of the doctoral students in the training stage also affects their academic progress and whether they can graduate on time.The key factor.Secondly,the supervisor’s discretion in the submission of doctoral students’ academic papers,graduation defense,etc.at the graduation stage directly affects whether the doctoral student’s academic progress can be smoothly advanced.Second,doctoral students lack of physical fitness.The main manifestations are the influence of external motivation to read a doctorate and the lack of academic research literacy and ability.First,external motivations such as utilitarianism lead doctoral students to deal with difficulties passively.Secondly,in terms of academic research literacy and ability,some doctoral candidates have the problem of lack of literacy.3.The academic production and evaluation system is blocked.It mainly includes the characteristics of high-innovation and long-term engineering academic production and the academic evaluation system.First of all,subject characteristics such as difficult problem solving,rapid changes in research hotspots,long research trial and error process,and long experiment duration affect whether the paper can be published smoothly and whether the study can be completed on schedule.The academic evaluation system is mainly manifested in the system of dissertation publication regulations and the blind review system of dissertation.That is to say,the requirements for publishing academic papers are too high,and the doctoral students cannot meet the graduation requirements within the prescribed academic system,and then the delay is delayed.Some doctoral students cannot pass the blind review of the graduation thesis.Fourth,the influence of weak academic environment atmosphere.It mainly includes the micro-academic atmosphere and the macro-academic environment formed by the interaction between students and their peers.In the mentor-student interaction,differences in mentor-student demands and poor communication will lead to direct or potential interaction conflicts between mentor-students,resulting in mentor-student conflicts,which in turn affect the research status of doctoral students.In peer communication,insufficient peer group communication and increased peer pressure are not conducive to the formation of a good and positive scientific research attitude by doctoral students,and have an indirect negative effect on the completion of doctoral studies.Secondly,the external "involution" and "utilitarian" academic environment increases the psychological pressure of doctoral students at the implicit level,reduces academic interests,and is not conducive to the completion of doctoral studies.In response to the above research results,this research puts forward the following suggestions for the training of engineering doctoral students: strengthen the assessment and evaluation of mentors,improve the construction of the mentor team;improve the triage and elimination system,pay attention to the mental health of doctoral students;promote the communication between the mentors and the peers;improve the academic evaluation system,Correct the academic environment orientation. |
