Identification And Inheritance Of Rural Settlement Genes Based On Spatial Gene Theor

Rural settlements are the crystallization of the wisdom of the working people in China,recording the historical product of the combined influence of nature,humanities,and economy.Local culture and agricultural civilization are important carriers of the inheritance and development of Chinese culture,affecting the nostalgia of every descendant of the Chinese people.In the long-term evolution process,village space differs from towns in terms of systematic and scientific planning and design.Most of them are spontaneously organized and constructed by villagers,gradually forming a relatively stable local spatial gene of "space nature humanity".In seemingly different architectural landscapes,spatial gene sequences of "selection" and "variation" that conform to historical development can be extracted,condensing the village space construction method of "taking nature,seeking benefits and avoiding harm".The formation,derivation,merger,and withdrawal of villages contain genes for inheritance and memory space,providing a reference,improvement,and evolution direction for the protection of preserved ancient villages and the construction of new villages,so as to inherit and continue the local and traditional characteristics of rural areas.However,with the continuous expansion of urban space,new materials and technologies are rapidly iteratively updated.After some rural economies have developed to a certain extent,they expect rural construction to be on par with urban development.A large number of villages with cultural characteristics have undergone blind homogenization transformation in the context of rapid economic development,leading to the trend of homogenization in the characteristics of traditional rural settlement spaces.The disappearance of cultural context,the destruction of nature,and the hollowing out of rural areas have made rural development powerless.In order to address the issues of "urban-rural integration" and "thousands of villages,one side",this article aims to introduce the concept of spatial genes,recognize and structure rural settlements from its perspective,identify,extract,analyze,evaluate,and inherit village spatial genes,and provide new design ideas for rural spatial style planning,spatial protection and updating,and natural environment improvement.
