Abstract/Summary:
Harmony between human and land has always been the academic pursuit of human geography, and the essence of human settlement environment is the concrete embodiment of the relationship between human and land, which is also a new entry point of geography research on the relationship between human and land. This study summarizes relevant concepts, theories and results within both domestic and international contexts.Based on the research concept of sustainable development and statistical yearbook data from 2000 to 2019,entropy method, coupled coordination degree model and obstacle factor diagnosis model are adopted to study 30 cities in 5 provinces of Central Plains urban agglomeration. The characteristics and mechanisms of spatio-temporal coupling coordination of human settlement environment level in central Plains urban agglomeration were analyzed.First, based on the systematic review of related literature,Zhongyuan urban agglomeration environment system of evaluation index system was constructed through entropy method. In this model, comprehensive measurement of 20 years living systems,as well as "social-economic-environment" three subsystems development level was established to analyze its space-time evolution pattern;Secondly, according to the coupling coordination model, the coupling coordination relationship among three sub-systems of human settlement environment in central Plains urban agglomeration was comprehensively evaluated. In addition, the influencing mechanism of the factors restricting the human settlement environment level of the urban agglomeration and the research units in the central Plains region was analyzed through the diagnosis model of obstacle factors. Finally, the countermeasures and suggestions for optimizing the level of human settlement environment in central Plains urban agglomeration are put forward. The main conclusions of this study are as follows:The quality of comprehensive human settlements in the Central Plains urban agglomeration increased steadily, while the western and northern parts of the study area fluctuated in the development process. The overall quality of living environment of space differentiation is more apparent, spatial agglomeration characteristics significantly, rendering with Zhengzhou as the core in the middle of the higher, the nearby city of relatively low pattern, characteristic of hot spot agglomeration is obvious, mainly distributed in the central plains urban agglomeration economic uplift belt, cold spot zone gradually shrink, assumes the edge type distribution pattern, level is falling,The agglomeration characteristics of human settlement environment quality gradually weakened. With the development of urban construction, the gap of human settlement environment quality among cities in the region decreases and gradually enters the stage of stable and coordinated development from unbalanced development.(2)There are obvious differences in human settlements quality among subsystems.Cities with high scores are mainly located in the middle, west and north of the study area, while cities with relatively low development level are mainly distributed in the southeast, presenting a spatial pattern with Zhengzhou as the core and Liaocheng-Nanyang as the transitional boundary. The quality of economic subsystem changed from obvious grade and regional difference to relatively homogeneous development, showing strong spatial agglomeration in the early stage, and then turning to the "group type" coordinated development pattern that the core area radiates and drives the surrounding areas. The quality of the environmental subsystem fluctuates the most, with obvious stage characteristics but uneven spatial pattern. The overall growth trend and continuous growth momentum are obvious.(3)The coupling coordination among the sub-systems of human settlements in the study area is benign, showing the overall characteristics of high coupling and good coordination. The level of coupling interaction developed to a high level, and the interaction between systems gradually strengthened during the running-in process. The coordination level showed a structure of "coexisting core polarization and regional equilibrium",which was manifested in the spatial pattern of high central, north and west, and low coordination level in the east. The coordination level of the comprehensive system has significantly improved, and the growth trend has changed from fast to steady, showing the space-time law that central cities drive the coordinated development of neighboring cities. The coordination level of each system shows the development trend that the social-economic and economic-environmental coordination level is dominant, and the social-economic coordination level is relatively low.(4)According to the disorder diagnosis, the main obstacle factors of the comprehensive human settlement environment system in the study area include 16 obstacle factors, and the type and sequence of obstacle factors in each year have a certain dynamic change. There are some differences between the obstacle factors of each research unit and the results of the comprehensive analysis of the whole research area.Model based on spatial analysis, single system resistance model for the environment, most of the city land use efficiency is not balance become the main factors,a few cities for the system and three resistance model, main restrictive factors are life energy infrastructure, industry and economic development, the level of public services, education and cultural level, residents’ housing conditions and climatic conditions, etc.According to the comprehensive analysis results, the study area is divided into obstacle effect type areas, and the types of development obstacle in each region are clearly defined.Based on this, specific suggestions are put forward to provide a convincing basis for the discussion of regional human settlements development countermeasures.
