Spatial Linkages Research Of The Zhongyuan Urban Agglomeration

In the knowledge economy age, the economic globalization and information technology development had influenced the development of cities and urban agglomeration profoundly, and the modern urban agglomeration had become the new organization modality of regional productivity distribution system and the spatial labor division, the inter-regional competition had grown from single inter-city into the competition between regional urban agglomerations. In this background, the Henan Province had formulated the strategic principle of the rising of Central Plain, and put forward the strategic plan of building "Central Plain urban agglomeration", and cultivating the "Central Plains economy rising zone", creating a certain number central cities with strong competence and new economic growth poles. The investigation of spatial linkage of Central Plain urban agglomeration had great significance in the optimization of the agglomeration interior layout, and the coordination of economic cooperation between cities, and promoting the regional economic development coordinately, healthily, sustainablely.Firstly, this paper had introduced the research background and significance, analyzed the domestic and international studies and theories of agglomeration and space linkage and in this basis, summarized the formation and development conditions and the historical evolution of Central Plain urban agglomeration, and analyzed development actuality of Central Plain urban agglomeration.Functional structure, scale structure and geographical structure, these three city system structures had composed the spatial linkage base of Central Plain urban agglomeration. The paper had researched the functional structure by the theories of city function and city economic foundation; and researched the scale structure by the theories of first law, city pyramid, and rank-size rule; furthermore analyzed the geographical structure by the application of the fractal theory and urban imbalance index model based on the analysis before.The spatial linkages of Central Plain urban agglomeration could be divided into three parts of economic linkage, transportation linkage, and gather and diffusion linkage. This paper analyzed the economic linkage of Central Plain urban agglomeration by the methods of Centrality Hierarchy, accessibility evaluation and gravity model. In the investigation of transportation linkage, this paper analyzed the regularities of formation, growth and distribution of Central Plain urban agglomeration. For the gather and diffusion linkage of Central Plain urban agglomeration, this paper mainly used urban stream strength model and space uniform model.Finally, based on the above research, this paper discussed the major problems of the spatial linkages of Central Plain urban agglomeration, and put forward corresponding measures and recommendations.
