| China places great emphasis on the development of children and encourages the creation of China’s distinctive child-friendly cities that are socially, publicly, and legally friendly,as well as providing a friendly environment for growth.Communities play an important role as carriers of children’s lives in the construction of urban living relationships. However,in the context of fragmented space and intense competition for spatial resources, the mismatch between the "children’s spatial rights demands" and "community space" supply and demand in mountainous urban communities is becoming increasingly prominent.Against this backdrop, the concept of child-friendly cities has emerged, and it has gradually been implemented in the development and construction of mountainous urban communities. This article constructs an evaluation index system for child-friendly mountainous urban communities and evaluates the space in Xinglong community for child-friendliness,in order to provide references and suggestions for the design of child-friendly spaces in mountainous urban communities. The main content of the article is divided into three parts:(1)To clarify and define the connotation of child-friendly cities.Domestic and international research results on child-friendly topics are reviewed, and theories and practical methods in the field of child-friendliness at home and abroad are summarized.(2)To construct an evaluation index system for child-friendly mountainous urban communities.Firstly, through the analysis of the spatial and temporal characteristics of children’s activity behavior,hot-spot spaces are identified.Secondly, the behavior scene analysis method is used to analyze the environmental elements of the hot-spot spaces, and a child-friendly evaluation index system is formed by coupling community spatial environmental elements with children’s subjective demands. The system includes one primary index, four secondary indexes, and 38 tertiary indexes, and index weights are calculated using expert consulting and analytic hierarchy process. Finally, satisfaction scores are given for the space in Xinglong community.(3)A design approach for child-friendly spaces in mountainous urban communities is proposed.Firstly, overall strategies for child-friendly spaces in mountainous urban communities are proposed from four perspectives: accessibility, safety, environmental characteristics, and entertainment.Based on the above research, the main conclusions of this article are as follows: Firstly, the characteristics of children’s activities are generally regular over time, showing an overall M-shaped trend, and dynamically adjusting with changes in the season.Secondly, the characteristics of children’s activities have a collective effect overall, which moves with the migration of community spatial hotspots, but the overall collective pattern remains dynamic, with obvious spatial directionality. Finally, the degree of coupling between children’s subjective demands and community spatial objective environmental elements is positively proportional to community space satisfaction, with a stronger coupling degree leading to higher satisfaction. |
