Research On Community-based Renewal Design Of Industrial Relics In The Central Urban Area Of Jinan

In recent years,as a historic and cultural city,Jinan has been vigorously carrying out urban renewal related work.The traditional industrial economy,in the urban environment and economic structure,no longer meets the overall planning and development requirements of the city,especially the renewal needs of densely populated central urban areas.As a result,most factories are closed or relocated to the suburbs,leaving industrial buildings and old facilities in the central urban area.The original architectural form and factory infrastructure of these old industrial plants do not match the surrounding urban landscape and land use needs.However,these old industrial buildings with industrial memory properties are a historical witness to the economic development of Jinan city and have certain historical and cultural value.The overall demolition may become a loss in the process of urban renewal,and such industrial relics can be activated and utilized to restore their vitality.Residents are the main users of community space,and the activities carried out by residents are crucial in urban space.In terms of the protection,activation,and utilization of industrial relics in the central urban area of Jinan,the residents around the industrial relics can be regarded as the main service objects,and the old factory area can be transformed into a community space closely connected to the surrounding areas.This article first uses field research,literature analysis,case study,interdisciplinary research,and comprehensive analysis methods to focus on the industrial relics in the central urban area of Jinan.Combining domestic and foreign research practices,it establishes a new design direction for the community-based industrial relics in the central urban area of Jinan.Furthermore,the concepts and analysis of industrial heritage and community-based renewal were elaborated,and the relevant connections between industrial heritage,community-based renewal,and urban renewal were discussed.By collecting relevant practical cases of community-based renewal in the central urban area,referring to specific design strategies in other cities’ community-based renewal,summarizing reference experience,and conducting relevant exploration for the research direction of community-based renewal in the central urban area of Jinan.Secondly,by conducting research and relevant literature on industrial relics in multiple central urban areas of Jinan,the current situation and needs for the protection and utilization of industrial relics in the central urban area were summarized and analyzed.The feasibility of community-based renewal of industrial relics in the central urban area of Jinan was obtained from four aspects: adjustment of urban economic and industrial structure,promotion of social and cultural environment,diversified development trend of urban architecture,and advantages of factory building renovation in the central urban area.Once again,based on the above analysis and summary of the industrial relics in the central urban area of Jinan,four design ideas are proposed for the community-based renewal of industrial relics in the central urban area of Jinan,including integrated urban design,public design that connects with the community,adaptive design that adapts to local conditions,and daily design that serves the citizens.This leads to the design strategy for the community-based renewal of industrial relics in the central urban area of Jinan.Finally,based on the overall strategy of community-based renewal of industrial relics in the central urban area of Jinan,specific community-based renewal design practices were carried out for the design plot of Jinan Fuhrer Knitting Factory,which has a large number of surrounding residents and is located in the central urban area.Specific design practices were carried out for the factory area,and the relevant strategies for community-based renewal of industrial relics in the central urban area of Jinan were combined in the design to ensure the unity of theory and practice,To verify the feasibility of community-based renewal of industrial relics in the central urban area of Jinan.
