| Transportation has a basic, leading and service strategic position in the national economy.Highway transport infrastructure has become the important developing direction of transport infrastructure because of its high efficiency, convenience and wide layout.Central China has the regional advantages of connecting the East and the West and linking the north and the south.Highway transportation not only drives the local economy, but also exerts the spatial spillover effect on the surrounding areas through network and externality. In order to scientifically evaluate the impact of highway transportation on economic growth and achieve the development goal of building a country with strong transportation network, this paper studies the spatial spillover effect of highway transportation infrastructure on economic growth based on the panel data of 80prefecture-level cities in Central China from 2006 to 2020.This paper uses Arc GIS software to draw the spatial quantile map,and analyzes the evolution of the spatial differences between economy and highway traffic in the central region;Using Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis method to calculate the autocorrelation of economic growth in Central China;By constructing the Spatial Dobbin Model to measure the spatial spillover effect of highway transportation infrastructure on economic growth, comparing with the ordinary panel model and analyzing the heterogeneity of spatial spillover effect, the following conclusions are obtained:(1)There is a significant spatial autocorrelation in the economic growth of Central China, and the correlation increases year by year;(2)Ignoring the spatial interaction effect will underestimate the impact of highway transportation infrastructure on economic growth;(3)Highway transportation infrastructure in Central China has a significant positive role in promoting economic growth, and the measured values of direct effect and spatial spillover effect are 0.0867 and 0.416 respectively;(4)The spatial spillover effect of highway transportation infrastructure in Central China is heterogeneous. The spatial spillover effect of Shanxi,Anhui and Jiangxi is significantly negative, and that of Henan and Hubei is significantly positive. Finally, based on the empirical results, this paper puts forward relevant policy suggestions:(1)strengthen the overall planning of regional planning;(2)Expand the scale of highway investment;(3)Build a multilevel transportation hub;(4)Improve the construction of central highway;(5)Broaden financing channels;(6)Optimize the economic supporting environment. It provides a reference for the sustainable development of highway construction in the central region and the realization of economic integration in the central region. |
