Research On The Spatial Spillover Effect Of Airport Economy On The High-quality Development Of Regional Economy

The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China made a major judgment that "China’s economy has shifted from a stage of rapid growth to high-quality development," and put forward the important task of changing the development mode,optimizing the economic structure,and transforming the growth momentum.The high-quality development of regional economy sets a novel goal for regional development in the new development stage.It is also an inevitable choice and important measure for China’s economy to respond to major changes unseen in a century.It is of great strategic significance for promoting the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country.In this context,there is an urgent need to explore new business formats,new models,and new momentum to promote the high-quality development of regional economy.In recent years,airport economy has played an increasingly prominent role in regional economy,as a new regional economic form with both spatial and industrial attributes.It is significantly important for exerting comparative advantages,promoting industrial transformation,optimizing the pattern of economic development,and accelerating the changing of economic development patterns.The practical development of airport economy continues to promote the deepening of theoretical research,and the research on the impact of airport economy on regional economy is becoming more and more abundant,but there are few discussions from the spatial perspective.On this basis,how can the airport economy empower the high-quality development of regional economy through spatial spillover effects? How to quantitatively evaluate the airport economy and high-quality development of regional economy? What is the intensity and heterogeneity of the spatial spillover effect of airport economy on the high-quality development of regional economy? The in-depth study of this series of issues is of great significance for deepening the research on the impact of airport economy on regional economy and achieving a high-level improvement in the quality of regional economic development.This dissertation combines the airport economy with the high-quality development of regional economy,focusing on the spatial spillover effects that reflect cross-regional impacts,and systematically studies the spatial spillover effects of airport economy on the high-quality development of regional economy from the following five aspects.Firstly,clarifies the spatial characteristics of the spatial spillover effect of airport economy on the high-quality development of regional economy,based on the analysis of relationship them and reveals the composition and phased development pattern of its dynamic system.Secondly,systematically analyzed the role of airport economy on the spatial spillover that effects high-quality development of regional economy by constructing a four-in-one analysis framework of "airport-airport industry-airport city-institution",which is composed of hub airport,airport industry,aviation city and institution,and also explains the dynamic evolution of spatial spillover effects based on four major elements.Thirdly,take ten million class airports and their cities as samples,use the methods of selecting proxy indicators and constructing an evaluation indicator system to comprehensively evaluate airport economy and the high-quality development of regional economy.Subsequently,use the quantitative indicators of airport economy and the high-quality development of regional economy as explanatory variables and explained variables combined with the relevant panel data of the sample cities from 2005 to 2019,and also use spatial Durbin model to test the impact of the spatial spillover effect that airport economy has on the high-quality development of regional economy.Finally,propose the path to enhance the spatial spillover effect of airport economy on the high-quality development of regional economy.Based on the research above,this dissertation draws the following five main research conclusions.Firstly,the spatial spillover effect reflects the impact of the development of regional airport economy on the high-quality development of external regional economy.The dynamic system is composed of basic power,endogenous power and external power that constitutes and presents a phased development pattern.Secondly,the airport economy can be supported by the hub airport as base,the airport industry as the development core,the aviation city as the space carrier,and the system as the innovation leader.The multi-dimensional spatial spillover effect can be used to promote the high-quality development of regional economy and the spatial spillover effect.It has the characteristics of dynamic evolution that gradually deepens with the strengthening of the four elements.Thirdly,the development of China’s airport economy has entered a growth stage.Its development level is affected by factors such as air transportation,hinterland regional development and policy support.The high-quality development of the regional economy is the coordinated development of the five dimensions of economic vitality,innovation-driven,open development,resident lives and green ecology.The high-quality development of regional economy and airport economy in the sample cities shows an upward trend with obvious spatial differences.Fourthly,airport economy has a significant positive spatial spillover effect on the high-quality development of regional economy,and the four major elements of hub airport,airport industry,aviation city and system can have a heterogeneous impact on the spatial spillover effect.Fifthly,the government should use the four major elements as the entry point to create new competitive advantages for airport economy,and promote the spatial spillover effect of airport economy in a broader and deeper level,so as to provide high-quality impetus for the high-quality development of regional economy.The contributions and innovations of this dissertation are mainly reflected in the following three aspects.First,take the airport economy as a breakthrough to discuss the high-quality development of regional economy,and scientifically measure the high-quality development of regional economy through the improvement of the evaluation index system,which optimize the method of using GDP and gross industrial output value to represent the regional economic level in the previous research and realized the innovation of research perspective and the innovative combination of research objects.Second,on the basis of discussing the structure and development pattern of the dynamic system of airport economy spatial spillover effect,construct a theoretical analysis framework of “airport-airport industry-airport city-institution” and systematically analyze the impact of airport economy on regional economy,which makes up for the neglect of cross-regional impact of airport economy in the current related research,and expand the effect system of airport economy and the theoretical system of the impact of airport economy on regional economy.Third,introduced spatial models and explored the construction of a nested spatial weight matrix covering aviation distance and economic distance,verified the spatial spillover effect and heterogeneity of the high-quality development of the regional economy,and explored the realization of the airport economy.The combination of theoretical analysis and spatial measurement methods expands the scope of application of spatial measurement models and provides new methods for empirical research on airport economy.
