| Both in the past and in the future,alleviating the water crisis and ensuring the water supply for the daily life of the population have been major challenges for policy makers.Promoting the use of water-saving appliances has become an important initiative with necessity and feasibility for the practical use and protection of water resources in China.In a review of the previous domestic and international research base work,it is found that there is a wealth of research results on the behavior of saving water.However,the research focusing on devices for saving water is somewhat lacking in China.Besides,most of the previous scholars have used traditional empirical methods to investigate the factors influencing water-saving behavior and its mechanism of action.Few scholars have explored the dynamics of the entire process of urban residents’ awareness,persuasion,and decision to adopt water-saving appliances based on diffusion of innovation theory.In order to explore the mechanisms that have been researched and confirmed to influence the adoption of water-saving appliances by urban residents,as well as to analyze the process of water-saving appliances adoption by urban residents from a dynamic,microscopic perspective,the following work has been done in this paper.(1)The factors influencing the use of water-saving appliances by urban residents in the current study were summarized.The purpose of this paper is to conduct in-depth research on the influencing factors in the process of urban residents adopting water-saving appliances.On the basis of reviewing the existing research,the factors that have been confirmed in the past research to influence the residents’ water-saving behavior are comprehensively sorted out for the followup application.(2)On the theoretical basis of the influence of various factors on the adoption of watersaving appliances by urban residents and the theory of diffusion of innovation,a dynamic model of the factors influencing the adoption of water-saving appliances by urban residents was established.The model describes the dynamic process of urban residents from generating awareness of water-saving appliances,to persuasion,and then to the decision of adoption.(3)Based on the idea of dynamic modeling and intelligent body modeling,an intelligent body simulation model of the factors influencing factors of urban residents’ adoption of watersaving appliances was constructed,the Repast platform was used to write codes and establish a simulation model.The simulation model included three types of agents: urban residents,government and enterprises,and designs and interprets the attributes,behaviors,state transitions and interaction rules of various agents.(4)The simulation experiment was carried out through the Repast platform,the experimental parameters were determined,the experimental scene and experimental scheme were designed,and then the values of the parameters were adjusted to obtain the simulation results.The adoption process of water-saving appliances was recorded in detail.Additionally,the coverage rate of water-saving appliances and the number of cycles(T)when the coverage rate reached 50% were calculated.Based on this,a representative experimental scheme with a better water-saving effect was selected.In this paper,through intelligent simulation research and analysis,the following conclusions were obtained.First,there are many factors influencing the adoption of water-saving appliances by residents.the key factors are the characteristics of residents,the quality of water-saving appliances,social networks and government promotion policies;Second,in the process of promoting water-saving appliances,the government and enterprises should pay attention to improving the relative advantages of water-saving appliances,enhancing the compatibility of water-saving appliances,improving the visualization of water-saving appliances,etc.;Third,in the process of promoting water-saving appliances;Fourth,government policy is an indispensable factor in accelerating the promotion of water-saving appliances,and government economic subsidies for urban residents who purchase water-saving appliances,economic subsidies for water-saving appliance enterprises,government publicity and education,and government technical support for enterprises all play a significant role in the promotion of water-saving appliances.The combination of these policies is more effective than a single policy;Fifth,based on the simulation experiment of government policies,we propose policy recommendations to promote water-saving appliances,which are important for promoting the adoption of watersaving appliances by urban residents and building a water-saving society.This has important implications for promoting the adoption of water-saving appliances by urban residents and building a water-saving society. |
