As the continuing changes in the industrial market,fast-response,low-cost multi-variety,and small-batch production has become to the major market trend.Lean production not only meets this kind of market but also becomes a mainstream advanced way in the current manufacturing industry.it has won more and more widespread applications both domestically and internationally.So,how to carry out Lean production within an enterprise and gain a competitive advantage has become one of the key factors for an enterprise to win the market.The competition in the metal forming industry where Company V engaged becomes more and more tough.The high production cost becomes the main obstacle to develop new customers,it is necessary to find ways to reduce the production cost and improve the efficiency.Taking Company V as the research object and based on the theory of Lean production,this thesis demonstrates the theoretical support of Lean on improving efficiency and reducing cost.This thesis summarizes the relevant research literature of Lean,briefly introduces Lean concept and main contents,describes Lean current situation and future development orientation.Meanwhile,with the actual situation of company V,this thesis analyzes its 3 major problems which are inadequate production management leads high operating costs,poor equipment reliability leads low utilization,unstable quality leads high costs.Based on above it summarizes the specific plan of Lean to fix which are front-line staff management optimization,lean application to optimize production management,TPM application to strengthen facility preventive maintenance,TQM application to improve process quality.Through successful lean production implementation,it is found that major improvements have been made in the three aspects of productivity,equipment reliability and quality performance,which have improved production efficiency,reduced operating costs,and enhanced corporate competitiveness,the lean implementation results and experiences are summarized at the end of the thesis.Through the practice of Lean application at company V,this thesis summarizes effective ways to improve production efficiency and reduce production costs and it also provides beneficial reference to other similar metal forming companies to enhance their market competitiveness.
