M Auto Company Supplier Performance Assessment System Improvement Research

China has become the top auto market since 2009 in world,However,the market has saturated after more than ten years’ rapid development.The result not only leads to each auto company pay more new vehicles models and keep price competition,but also keeps internal cost control and improve supply chain also as a strategy.M auto company has a large share in China premium car market.To keep competitive to other auto companies and keep a leading way in auto market,M auto company also pay more vehicles models and improve its supply chain.This paper base on China auto market and M auto company supplier management.Firstly,summary and find potential improve supplier performance assessment system approaches from former supplier management research and theories.Secondly,use 360° interview,questionnaire investigation and combine with M auto company current status to find three main problems in supplier performance assessment system.Optimize supplier performance assess process purposefully.By using ABC and Karljic Matrix approaches to make suppliers classified.By using Balanced Score Cards(BSC)and Key Performance Indicator(KPI)approaches to add new assessment elements and indicators.By using Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)approach to give weight to assessment elements and indicators layers.Finally,verify the effectiveness by pilot the improve supplier performance assessment system within M auto company internally.Through this paper study we can conclude:A scientific and effective supplier performance assessment system is the direction of company supply chain strategy and planning as well as let the supplier motivation and development,it is the base of achieving the supplier strategy.The supplier performance assessment system decides the key of overall supplier management system operation.Although this paper only study and analysis for the M auto company,but the mindset and solutions can be as some reference significance for other companies in auto industry.
