Under the guidance of the macro policy of the nation on “One Belt and One Road”,the general contracting business obtained by Chinese engineering companies is developing more thrive.General contractors need to buy a lot of electromechanical equipments at home,due to the price of electromechanical equipments and other materials accounts for more than 50% of the general contract price.Thus,the procurement business is critical to the success of the project,which asks them to choose the right supplier to complete the project and support their long-term development.This thesis examines the importance of suppliers to the general contractor from the perspective of the engineering supply chain.The general contractor should develop a supplier selection and evaluation index system,which uses the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)to analyze the performance of suppliers on all indicators in the system to select the best suppliers as partners.This thesis selects company A as the research target and summarizes the purchasing process and characteristics of this general contractor.Then we find out the problem in the process of selecting suppliers.Based on the summary,this research recommends that company A should organize a supplier evaluation team,and establish a supplier selection evaluation index system that suits the needs of its international engineering.To gain the evaluation results,the YAAHP program is used,which is an auxiliary software for AHP,it can provide help in the decision-making process,such as model structuring,calculation and analysis,etc.To verify the effectiveness of the index system,the team executes a factory inspect on suppliers of motor.After inspection,the members of the team fill the questionnaire generated by YAAHP to evaluate the suppliers,then the evaluation results are entered into YAAHP software.Depending on the results,four suppliers are ranked according to the weights that are calculated by YAAHP.Finally,the best supplier is selected,which is a foreign company with standardized production processes and international engineering achievements.This supplier meets all the requirements of the international project carried on by company A and the results are consistent with the team's expectations.With improving the evaluation index,this thesis provides a feasible approach and implementation steps for company A on supplier selection for strategic equipment,and establish a supplier evaluation index system that will conform to the scientific principle and it is suitable to its own development.
