Since 2008,China adheres to innovation and has made major breakthroughs in high-speed rail and other equipment manufacturing industries.Through efforts,China is steadily developing into a transportation power.The high-speed railway connects most cities in China,providing a way for the Chinese people to travel quickly,greatly saving people’s commuting time,changing people’s production and lifestyle,and promoting the economic development of the place where the high-speed railway is located.People pay more and more attention to the economic impact brought by the construction of high-speed railway.The Yellow River Basin is located in the middle of China.The construction of high-speed railway will connect the cities in the East,middle and West.The research on the economic effect of high-speed railway in the Yellow River Basin has high research value.Therefore,this paper selects 74 prefecture level cities in eight provinces of the Yellow River Basin as the research object to study from two aspects:accessibility and economic effect of high-speed rail.The study of accessibility adopts the weighted average travel time to calculate,and has a clear understanding of the accessibility changes of cities in the research area;Research on the economic consequence of high-speed rail:a double difference model is constructed based on the panel data of 74 cities from 2005 to 2019 to study the rationalization and upgrading of the industrial structure of cities along the high-speed rail in the Yellow River Basin.At the same time,a heterogeneity test is conducted for cities of different sizes along the line to understand whether the economic effect of high-speed rail is heterogeneous.It is found that after the opening of the high-speed railway,the inter regional accessibility of the Yellow River Basin has increased from 3-10 hours to 0.5-3hours,the accessibility of 28 cities has increased by more than 80%,and the accessibility of 24 cities has increased by more than 50%;The opening of high-speed railway in the Yellow River Basin has a significant economic effect on the rationalization and advanced of industrial formation of cities along the line.The beginning of high-speed railway has raised the reasoning index of cities along the high-speed railway in the Yellow River Basin by 0.068.The regulate variables such as economic evolution level,human capital,government dimensions and fixed investment have a significant role in promoting the rationalization of industrial structure.The beginning of high-speed railway has increased the industrial structure upgrading index of cities along the high-speed railway in the Yellow River Basin by 0.1163.The degree of economic evolution,urbanization process and human capital have a significant impact on the upgrading of industrial structure;The beginning of high-speed railway has significant heterogeneity in the rationalization and upgrading of different cities along the Yellow River Basin,and has a significant impact on the rationalization and upgrading of industrial structure of mega cities and big cities,with an impact effect between 0.08-0.57(P< 0.05).High-speed railway has a negative impact on the rationalization of industrial structure of small and medium-sized cities and promotes the upgrading of industrial structure of small and medium-sized cities,But none of them are significant.Therefore,we should carry out high-speed railway construction according to local conditions,strengthen top-level design,make rational use of the impact of high-speed railway on economic development,and promote regional economic development.
