| As the basis of the development of the national economy,transportation infrastructure has greatly promoted the liberation of productivity.The high-speed railway is the representative of advanced transportation technology,its opening has improved regional accessibility and facilitated people’s lives.The mileage of highspeed railways in China has exceeded two-thirds of the mileage of high-speed railways in the world,and the construction of high-speed railways has continued to advance steadily.In the face of the expanding high-speed railway network,most people think that this will be conducive to the development of regional economy,but at the same time there are some doubts that high investment in high-speed railway construction takes up opportunities for development of other industries,and regional economic development will Obstructed.Based on the above differences,it is necessary to clarify the relationship between high-speed railways and regional economic growth,explore the laws governing the impact of high-speed railways on regional economic growth,and better play the role of high-speed railways in promoting regional economic growth.Under the background of the development of China’s high-speed railway construction,this study studies the impact of high-speed railway construction on China’s regional economic growth with the support of new economic geography theory such as location theory,growth pole theory,alternating push-pull theory and siphon effect theory.Considering that the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway was opened in 2009,and in order to maintain the stability of the sample,the 2006-2014 period before and after the opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway was selected as the research period,and the 10 cities of the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway were selected as the experimental group,adjacent areas.The 17 unopened high-speed railway cities are the control group,and the difference in differences model of the impact of high-speed railway on regional economic growth is constructed.Taking the regional GDP,regional economic growth rate and regional industrial structure index as the explanatory variables,compare and analyze the impact of the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway on regional economic growth,and further analyze the high-speed railway to regional economic growth according to the theory and reality Impact.Finally,relevant suggestions are put forward to better play the role of high-speed railways in promoting regional economic development.The research results show that:(1)After the opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway,the accessibility rate of cities along the line exceeded 60%.(2)The opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway has a significant effect on the gross national product along the line,and its significance has been further improved over time.(3)In the initial stage of the opening of Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway,the economic growth rate was negatively affected and not significant,but the significance was improved with time,the negative effect gradually narrowed,and the siphon effect of high-speed railway opening on the regional economic growth rate was obvious from the beginning to the end.(4)After the opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway,the industrial structure index of the region has been significantly improved,but the rationalization of the industrial structure of the big cities is more obvious.In general,the opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway is positive for both regional quantity and quality.Finally,the paper puts forward relevant suggestions for the construction of high-speed railway based on the theoretical and empirical research results. |
