Sustainable social development and food security are both threatened by global climate change.The use of agricultural land is both affected by and contributes to climate change.Agricultural land has great potential to reduce carbon emissions and increase carbon sinks,and to promote the realization of low carbon agriculture is helpful in accomplishing the objective of carbon neutrality at the carbon peak.As one of the region’s first low-carbon agriculture pilot provinces,Shaanxi Province has actively implemented the national strategy to address climate change and achieved certain results but there are still problems of continuous growth of carbon emissions from farmland use.Therefore,a study on the Shaanxi Province’s agricultural land’s low carbon use efficiency and the elements that influence it can offer a foundation and solutions to enhance the province’s agricultural land’s low carbon use efficiency.And the influencing factors can provide a basis and countermeasures to improve the low carbon use efficiency of agricultural land in Shaanxi Province.Shaanxi Province is the focus of this essay’s research,and compares Shaanxi Province with the part of provinces in China to analyze the effectiveness of Shaanxi Province’s low-carbon agricultural land usage and the affecting factors.Firstly,we examine the state of agricultural development in Shaanxi Province at the present time,as well as the carbon emissions and sinks associated with agricultural land usage.Second,the efficiency accounting system incorporates the carbon emission and carbon sink of agricultural land usage and the efficiency of low carbon use of agricultural land is measured and analyzed from both static and dynamic aspects.Finally,on the basis of literature research,the influencing factors are scientifically selected and the Tobit model is constructed to obtain the regression results affecting the low carbon utilization of agricultural land.The following conclusions are drawn:First,from 2010 to 2020,carbon emissions from agricultural land use in Shaanxi Province showed an increasing trend but lower than the national average,carbon emissions from agricultural diesel fuel grew the fastest,and chemical fertilizer was the main source of carbon emissions.carbon sinks from agricultural land use from 2010 to 2020 grew but lower than the national average,carbon sinks contributed by planted crops and forest land accounted for a larger share and showed an increasing trend,grassland sinks for carbon The amount of carbon sinks from agricultural land usage exceeds the amount of carbon emissions between2010 and 2020,and the net carbon sinks are growing.Second,from 2010 to 2020,Shaanxi Province’s efficiency of low carbon use of agricultural land in is at an effective level,and the efficiency value is slowly increasing but lower than the national efficiency average.2010-2020 redundancy of land inputs and labor inputs is improved,and in 2020 there is input redundancy in land inputs and fertilizer inputs in Shaanxi Province,and land and fertilizer inputs need to be reduced.Third,In 2019 – 2020,Shaanxi Province’s Malmquist Luenberger index exceeded 1,which is higher than the geometric mean of the national Malmquist Luenberger index,and the higher level is the outcome of the interaction between technological advancement and increased technical efficacy.2010-2020 ML index in Shaanxi Province is greater than 1mainly attributed to technological progress.2014-2015,2016-2017 Malmquist Luenberger index is less than 1 due to the lack of improvement in technical efficiency.2019-2020 both technical efficiency and technical improvement decrease compared to 2010-2011.Fourth,for the entire nation,the amount of financial assistance given to agriculture,the severity of crop damage,and cropping patterns all have a significant detrimental effect on how effectively agricultural land uses carbon dioxide,whereas the per capita disposable income of rural populations has a significant beneficial impact,and the degree of crop damage and cropping structure have a significant negative effect on the low carbon use efficiency of agricultural land;for the northwest region where Shaanxi Province is located,Rural people’per capita disposable income has a strong positive impact on the amount of agricultural automation and the low carbon usage efficiency of agricultural land.The extent of agricultural mechanization and the area sown per person,and planting structure have significant negative effects on low carbon use efficiency of agricultural land.The following recommendations were given to increase the low-carbon use effectiveness of agricultural land in Shaanxi Province based on the study’s findings: reduce the use of harmful inputs and promote the use of agricultural land to increase carbon sinks;concentrate on the study and creation of technologies pertaining to the low-carbon use of agricultural land and aid in the promotion and use of technologies;encourage the efficient and effective use of farmland and logically maximize the planting structure;Provide financial assistance to agriculture and raise farmers’ per-capita disposable income.
