Research On Performance Evaluation Of CONCH’s Strategic Transformation Under The Background Of Low Carbon Development

The rapid growth of China’s economy has caused its carbon emissions to grow annually.The Chinese Municipal Government’s primary objective is to reach "peak carbon dioxide emissions,carbon neutrality",and low-carbon development has become a popular subject.In the midst of this low-carbon progress,the cement sector,with its high energy consumption and emissions,has become a pivotal transition point.CONCH,as the leader of the cement industry,actively carried out strategic transformation,helped enterprises to make strategic transformation through technological innovation and optimization of production capacity structure,and further stabilized its leading position in the industry.Beginning in 2018,CONCH initiated a transformation of the environment,investing more in environmental protection and fostering technological advancement to realize the objective of a low-carbon transformation of enterprises.To this end,they have implemented a variety of new approaches,such as constructing green mines,achieving low-carbon production and converting energy to lowcarbon.Nevertheless,the transformation is a continual process.Through research and analysis,the effects of the low-carbon transformation after the year of 2018 have been revealed.Lowcarbon transformation not only brings good financial and environmental benefits to CONCH,but also realizes the upgrading of its own industry through low-carbon development.This paper introduces the basic situation of CONCH,analyzes the measures taken by CONCH and its achievements.Firstly,it uses the traditional financial performance analysis method and EVA evaluation method to evaluate the financial performance of CONCH before and after the low-carbon transition,and compares the performance of CONCH with the industry average.However,a single financial performance analysis cannot comprehensively evaluate CONCH’s performance.A balanced scorecard is created to appraise CONCH’s performance on nonfinancial indicators.Finally,the performance of CONCH was scored.After a thorough assessment and examination,it was determined that CONCH’s low-carbon transformation had been successful,prompting proposals to bolster scientific and technological progress,draw in scientific and technological experts,and amplify the disclosure of environmental protection information,which could be a source of guidance for other cement companies in China.
