Effect And Mechanism Of Environmental Regulation On Agricultural Carbon Emission Reduction

Agricultural economic and environmental pollution,ecological destruction,environmental pollution and the continuous lack of resources and energy are serious challenges facing all countries in the world today.How to solve these world problems,achieve sustainable development and develop green and clean production has become the common goal of the international community.In the 2016 Environmental Performance Index Report released by Yale University,China ranked second from the bottom in the Environmental Performance Index(EPI),and was among the world’s "worst hit" in terms of exceeding PM2.5.Especially after the reform and opening up,the agricultural economy of our country has been greatly developed,the relationship between people and the natural environment began to be tense,the ecological environment problems came out day by day,coupled with the excessive use of chemical products in agricultural production,environmental pollution is increasingly serious,making the development potential of agriculture further restricted.With the increasingly prominent problem of farmland pollution,agricultural development is no longer aimed at grain supply and demand,but at the same time considering the efficient utilization of resources and bearing capacity of the environment.As a major agricultural producer,China has been adhering to the direction of revitalizing agriculture and realizing rural revitalization.Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,China’s domestic and foreign economies have also been impacted.How to seize the opportunity in the changing economic trend,achieve low pollution,reduce agricultural carbon emissions,give full play to the role of environmental regulation,and achieve high-quality economic development still needs us to think about.Based on the perspective of environmental regulation as a whole,this paper firstly reviewed and summarized relevant studies on the impact of environmental regulation on agricultural carbon emissions.Secondly,based on the previous literature review and reference to relevant theoretical basis,it clarified the effect and mechanism of agricultural carbon reduction of environmental regulation and proposed the hypothesis of this paper.At the same time,based on the status quo of Chinese agricultural development,this paper analyzes the process of Chinese environmental regulation and its characteristic fact,and measures Chinese agricultural carbon emission,and further analyzes the change trend of Chinese agricultural carbon emission from the intensity of agricultural carbon emission and the density of agricultural carbon emission.Furthermore,we calculated whether there is a relationship between our environmental regulation and agricultural carbon emissions by using SPSS software,which provided conditions for the subsequent empirical hypothesis.Finally,by constructing the baseline regression model and the intermediary effect model,the variables were statistically described and empirical results such as baseline regression analysis,robustness test and heterogeneity analysis were conducted,and the whole paper was combed and summarized.Based on the empirical results,the author puts forward some suggestions,and finally puts forward some prospects for the research.
