As one of the regions with the highest economic vitality, the strongest innovation ability and the widest degree of openness in China, the Yangtze River Delta region has been deeply integrated into all aspects of production and consumption, and will become one of the important engines to promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta. On the one hand, the optimization of industrial structure and energy consumption structure optimization has a carbon reduction effect on carbon emissions,on the other hand, the use of digital equipment requires the support of electricity, and the improvement of production efficiency expands the production scale of the industrial industry, and the continuous increase in energy consumption will cause more carbon emissions to increase. Therefore, the role of the application of digital technology in the realization of the dual carbon goal is worth paying attention to.Based on the background of the digital Yangtze River Delta and the "dual carbon" goal, this paper takes the data of 41 cities in the Yangtze River Delta from 2011 to 2019 as the research sample, constructs and measures the industrial digital intelligence index by using the entropy value method and principal component analysis method, systematically analyzes the effect path of industrial digital intelligence on carbon emissions, and empirically tests the direction, internal mechanism and regional heterogeneity of industrial digital intelligence on carbon emissions by constructing fixed effect models and mechanism analysis models,in order to explore the low-carbon transformation of industry in the Yangtze River Delta region.Further enrich the theoretical research framework of industrial digital intelligence and carbon emissions. The research conclusions show that:(1)the effect of industrial digital intelligence on carbon emissions is specifically manifested as: the nonlinear relationship of "inverted U-shape" that first grows and then declines, which is tested to be robust;(2)There is heterogeneity in the growth effect of industrial digital intelligence on carbon emissions, and the growth effect is stronger in non-central cities, low industrial digital intelligence level and low carbon emission areas, and the higher the level of financial development and the more advanced the infrastructure level, the more it can inhibit the carbonization effect of industrial digital intelligence;(3)Industrial digital intelligence has three mechanisms for carbon emissions:industrial agglomeration, industrial structure upgrading and human capital accumulation. At the same time, the suggestions are:(1)Give full play to the role of low-carbon pilot demonstration, and guide the industry to enhance the concept of low-carbon environmental protection.(2)Give full play to government policy intervention to stimulate the awareness and potential of independent innovation of enterprises.(3)Give full play to the enabling role of digital intelligence technology and enhance the depth of application of digital intelligence technology in industrial enterprises.
