With the accelerated process of urbanization and the development of tourism in China,the quantity of food waste in municipal solid waste has been constantly increasing,imposing significant pressure on environmental protection.To achieve sustainable development and implement the major strategic decisions of the Party Central Committee and the State Council regarding carbon peak and carbon neutrality,it is necessary to find effective methods to recycle and utilize food waste,thereby promoting the reform of the energy supply side.As a city with a highly developed tourism industry,The Old Town of Lijiang City has been experiencing a growing generation of food waste,which poses serious hazards to the local environment and public health.This study focuses on the research of the resource utilization of food waste in the Old Town of Lijiang City through methods such as questionnaire surveys,field investigations,and experimental analysis.It analyzes the composition,generation,and current treatment status of food waste in the region,and explores the feasibility of different treatment methods.Through the investigation and analysis,it is found that the composition of food waste in in the Old Town of Lijiang City is complex,mainly originating from the vicinity of tourist attractions and institutions such as schools,with relatively high average moisture content,chemical oxygen demand(COD),grease,and salt content.Furthermore,the main treatment methods for food waste in in the Old Town of Lijiang City are anaerobic digestion and incineration,but there are issues such as the small scale of anaerobic digestion and the harmfulness of incineration.In response to these problems,this paper proposes a novel model for the resource utilization of food waste based on local conditions.The model mainly utilizes a combined system with anaerobic digestion as the core to generate high-value products such as biogas,organic fertilizers,and biodiesel.The biogas and biodiesel are then used by catering enterprises to replace natural gas,and the organic fertilizer is used by local farmers to replace chemical fertilizers in vegetable cultivation.This model aims to achieve the resource utilization of food waste in in the Old Town of Lijiang City and promote the development of ecological circular agriculture.Additionally,the paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of the model’s benefits,demonstrating substantial economic,social,and ecological benefits,in line with the concept of circular agriculture.Based on this,the paper also proposes policy suggestions to strengthen garbage classification and disposal management,and improve subsidies for food waste,providing theoretical references for local policy-making.The aim is to jointly promote the resource utilization of food waste and the development of circular agriculture in the ancient city area of Lijiang,stimulate technological innovation and social participation,and achieve the dual objectives of resource utilization of food waste and environmental protection in in the Old Town of Lijiang City.
