The ecosystem can provide a range of essential services to human well-being,health,livelihood,and survival. However, ecosystem degradation and biodiversity loss have occurred due to climate change and increasing human resource consumption.People gradually realize that the ecological value of a region not only relates to the quality of the local natural environment but also depends on the degree of understanding, destruction, and control of the regional ecological environment.Expressing the value of ecosystem services in monetary units is an intuitive way to increase public awareness and convey the importance of ecosystems and biodiversity to decision-makers.Calculating the Gross Ecosystem Product(GEP)of Jiangxi Province, revealing its spatial differentiation characteristics and driving mechanisms,is of great significance for formulating regional development strategies and achieving the overall optimization and sustainable development of regional studies. This article uses multi-source data such as land use and remote sensing images, based on the principles of Gross Ecosystem Product(GEP)accounting, and establishes the accounting system of GEP of Jiangxi Province for the year 2020.The GEP accounting system includes three categories of ecological products: material production, regulatory services, and cultural services, with a total of 14 indicators. The ecological functional quantity is calculated by comprehensively applying 3S technology and In VEST model, and the value is evaluated by various methods such as market value method, shadow engineering method, and substitution value method to calculate the GEP of Jiangxi Province.Spatial correlation analysis is conducted on the spatial distribution of the three categories of ecological products’ value and GEP,and the factors affecting the spatial distribution pattern heterogeneity are explored using geographic detectors. The following conclusions are drawn:(1)In 2020,the GEP of Jiangxi Province was 5389.821 billion yuan, which was2.01 times the GDP of the same year.Among them, the value of regulatory services was4307.523 billion yuan, accounting for 79.92%;the value of material production was382.072 billion yuan, accounting for 7.09%;and the value of cultural services was700.226 billion yuan, accounting for 12.99%.In the value of regulatory services, the climate regulation service function alone accounted for 50.36% of the GEP of Jiangxi Province, with the largest contribution rate;followed by the water conservation function, which accounted for 21.1% of the GEP of Jiangxi Province.(2)In terms of spatial distribution, the GEP of Jiangxi Province has a pattern of higher values in the north and lower values in the south.High-value areas are concentrated in patches around Poyang Lake, with relatively high values distributed around the five major rivers and lakes including Gan River,Fu River,Xin River,Rao River, and Xiu River.Low-value areas are scattered with significant differences. The areas surrounding Poyang Lake have abundant water resources, making a significant contribution to climate regulation and higher GEP.In contrast, the southern part of Jiangxi Province has more mountainous terrain and higher forest coverage, resulting in a better ecological system and higher value for ecological services.(3)The spatial autocorrelation of GEP indicates significant positive correlation in spatial distribution, with high-value areas mainly concentrated in the north of Jiangxi province and exhibiting clustered distribution.Due to the high proportion of climate regulation value in GEP,the spatial clustering of GEP is highly consistent with the spatial clustering of regulating services.GEP exhibits three typical agglomeration areas in space: high-high agglomeration,low-low agglomeration, and low-high agglomeration. The high-high agglomeration area is mainly distributed near the Poyang Lake protection area, where the ecological environment is better and more complete. Some high-high agglomeration areas are located in mountainous and hilly areas with slower economic development and less human disturbance.Low-low and low-high agglomeration areas are located near the Poyang Lake water area and are facing increased pressure from human economic activities, resulting in lower value.(4)Both natural and socio-economic factors have an impact on the heterogeneity of GEP spatial distribution, with natural factors having a greater impact than socioeconomic factors.Among the natural factors, elevation has the greatest impact on GEP,while among the socio-economic factors, per capita GDP has the greatest impact. The interaction types between the influencing factors of GEP in Jiangxi Province are bifactor enhancement and nonlinear enhancement. The impact of natural factors and socio-economic factors on GEP is not independent, but interactive.Overall,GEP in Jiangxi Province is influenced by multiple factors, including natural and socioeconomic factors, and the interaction between the different factors significantly enhances the explanatory power for the ecological system’s total output value.
